Hello I hope I'm not too late to enter !

So here I am, Siljamoon or Silja Latendorf - a newcomer artist - actually I am so new that nobody knows me I guess. Maybe I'm not even a newcomer yet but I guess this'll work out anyway. I think that's enough of me let my ideas speak. I join team Fantasy!

I have the idea to create a banshee. Banshees are fairies from irish volk-tales that herald the death of a family member. Usually they kneel but I wanna go a bit away from that. Also usually banshees are female but I thought about doing an Androgyn being. Maybe it'll work out.

Right now I am just playing with the silhouette... I also wanna have this death- thing with it. I am thinking of giving her a nice bird-skull as a mask. Also there shall be a big cape and colour beneath it.
It'll show up... Science Fiction has enough of their nice cute technology but death is inevitable and Banshee will show them...

I like your sketches! Like you, I'm a newcomer, but I'd recommend you work out the silhouette before the details. It appears most design workflows, and a lot of folk here, go from general to specific.

Thank you very much for your critique and ideas and praise! This really helps me and keeps me going as I kinda have no idea what I'm doing. Well I have a little idea. I watch art videos so I'm good.
Putting this stuff into real use is difficult though. Well I worked for another 2 hours on my cute banshee-thing. I think I'm gonna call it Morgan. It's a nice unisex name isn't it? So Morgan my cute Banshee you shall eat the souls of those sci-fi nerds!

Also I tried to use the advice I got and did silhouettes. I did more but in my sketchbook. I still got to figure photoshop out.

So I continued with the face... Still not really happy I am trying to figure out how to draw.

I also pulled out some vulture references because I just thought it might be cool to have this crouching-like stand type. Those birds are as majestic as they are frightening and this is exactly what I wanna go for.

I then tried to come up with that statue for it. I kinda thing this is what I was going for pulling up reference helped a lot maybe I should try this more often...
