So I finally began to sketch up her final concept. I say final but I know I'll probably change a few things. I'll figure out what does and doesn't work after I've done a few sketches of her.
Surprisingly the hair was the most difficult. I'd decided on a ponytail earlier on but after drawing it with the completed outfit, it just didn't sit right with me. It felt too... cliche? So I tried out various hairstyles and it took ages to finally come to this one and I think it's suits her and it's complete like this.
So I began to do the line art and refine things. I wanted to concentrate on not making her face like every other face I draw. I wanted her to have a rather flat face, a prominent top lip, a long sort of flat nose, short eyebrows and quite large ears. Her lips were going to be bigger/longer but it felt more harmonized to have them quite small (they may not look small to others but they're small for me.)
I discovered that I preferred a round cape unlike the original where it was pointy. It just felt more balanced to me. I'm going to be working on some sketches later on so I can figure out if there's anything there anything that needs to be eliminated or is just unnecessary for her character. I also need to start working on a name, I think I'll be looking at some greek names like I was before.
I have no clue as to what her colour scheme will be, I feel her hair's going to be dark and she might be quite tanned but that's all I can figure out for that. I think she may wear oranges and purples but I'll just have to see.
