Looks great, either works here i suspect since the concept is pretty good, going to take a guess the 3D entry will be also(if there is one).

If you do two entries, some have been bouncing about with ideas and even myself so i'd take a few more days to really dedicate to something you absolutely like.
^I only mention this because the entry thread title states 2D or 3D at the time of my comment.

I say go both but you can only do 1 design per entry so if this is 2D it can't be 3D i am sure you know.

Either way looking good i want to see more when you can.

Ops, my fault. I did a copy-paste for the title and didnt realize that. Anyway, Its already fixed.
I could do a 3d entry too but definitely I wont have the time.

Here are some rough sketches trying different poses and composition for the final image. Its tricky finding the perfect one, usually is a combination of different ones. He is supposed to be raising the dead with his necromancer powers. Lets see how it turns out.

Lineart for the final image. I chose the first pose from the rough sketches as it shows the character silhouette clearly. Its been a lot of fun, cant wait to add volume and color . Keep up the good work everyone.

Great concepts! At first I thought he is a warrior, 'cause he looks so strong. Cool idea to design a barbarian battle necromancer haha
The lineart looks so strong and I like the composition! Keep doing.

Thank you very much for your kind comments. I have been working on it for some hours stating a general shading and mood. Green will be the predominant color as its usually the color for necromancers magic in most fantasy illustrations, and it gives some cool mood to it. Still there is a lot to do, lets see how it turns out.

A lot of potential right here already damn looking forward to what you do next to it, cool scene, you can take the mist/green glows to the front as well, to give more depth i suppose. Again not a concept artist it is just what I / like would do.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Yeah you are right zyp, also he is going to have green energy glow coming from his hands and affecting the dead guys below, as he is resurrecting them.
I want to do some more background stuff and work a lot on depth and volume.

Amazing composition, with that glowing hands youre telling us, it's gonna be even better. Cant wait to see that glowy light, it will affect the lighting of the composition drastically!

Well, here we go, I added the glowing magic in his hands and started working on volume and specularity. Still there is a lot to do, specially in terms of color ( basically everything is green ) and lighting. Lots of areas need to be better defined and worked. Having a lot of fun here

Adding more color and working more on light, mood and volume. Still a lot to do. I want to add some ground fog and more detail to gravestones and corpses. Also I need to make some distance fog to far away objects. I will tone down some lights and speculars so they dont interfere with the two main lights from his hands.
