Great concepts! At first I thought he is a warrior, 'cause he looks so strong. Cool idea to design a barbarian battle necromancer haha

Thank you very much for your kind comments. I have been working on it for some hours stating a general shading and mood. Green will be the predominant color as its usually the color for necromancers magic in most fantasy illustrations, and it gives some cool mood to it. Still there is a lot to do, lets see how it turns out.

A lot of potential right here already damn looking forward to what you do next to it, cool scene, you can take the mist/green glows to the front as well, to give more depth i suppose. Again not a concept artist it is just what I / like would do.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Yeah you are right zyp, also he is going to have green energy glow coming from his hands and affecting the dead guys below, as he is resurrecting them.
I want to do some more background stuff and work a lot on depth and volume.

Amazing composition, with that glowing hands youre telling us, it's gonna be even better. Cant wait to see that glowy light, it will affect the lighting of the composition drastically!

Well, here we go, I added the glowing magic in his hands and started working on volume and specularity. Still there is a lot to do, specially in terms of color ( basically everything is green ) and lighting. Lots of areas need to be better defined and worked. Having a lot of fun here

Adding more color and working more on light, mood and volume. Still a lot to do. I want to add some ground fog and more detail to gravestones and corpses. Also I need to make some distance fog to far away objects. I will tone down some lights and speculars so they dont interfere with the two main lights from his hands.

idk but i see some misty light stuff coming from the ground, idk if it would be too over whelming but perhaps fake the mist being lit by his hands as it rises from the dead.

Enjoying the updates loving the line work, depth/colors need love but i am sure you'll get to all that, much time ahead. (I am no concept artist, going off past works I've seen that i enjoyed.)

^Hopefully this helps think of some things.

Here I added more color, saturated more the green glow ( I want it to stick out from the rest ) and worked more on details, light and depth. Still there are areas I dont like much, there is more work ahead.
Yeah zyp, the glow coming out of the ground is a great idea but I tested it and didnt work too well, it made the image look too busy and confusing and I want to keep a simple composition. Anyway, I will test it more and see if I can make it work.
I am using clip studio paint through all the process, great drawing-painting tool.

I have been working a lot on it to integrate and soften lineart and make the image more painterly. Still thinking about adding something interesting to the background. There is one month left so I will be polishing everything more.

Finally I found a way to add the right corpses green glow to relate them to the main character. Also added more saturation, contrast and minor details. Now I want to focus on smaller details. I hope you like it.

Hi again. I added small details in the character´s clothes and accesories, also added contrast to the whole image and the magic runes for the background. Some small tweaks here and there and I think I am done. There is time until the end of february so I may change something but probably it will stay as it is.
It has been a lot of fun, thanks to everyone who stopped by and made some comments.
