Update of the day. Did some face expression sketches and tweaked the design a bit more. Still a little more to go. Gotta do the weapon on her back as well as some extra sketches to explain things a bit more. For now its just a wip for the final concept sheet.

I will jump on the illustration again after the design is finished. Into then I'll think of a cool pose.

In need of some feedback. Working on pose of the character an potential colors schemes.
I want the face to be the focal point so I'm thinking dark armor will work best with the environment.

Going to do some variations later an post them up. In the mean time you guys can go wild. Linking ref of pose ideas would be appreciated as well.

Mmmm for the colors I prefer the orange one, but as you say, the legs could be a bit darker. About the pose, well it depends on what she is doing in that scenery in the first place, to me she appears to be scouting that "fairy" land, so maybe she could be directly interacting with a spirit. Idk, try telling a little story.

Update as of now. Going with an defender or heroic fighter pose. As well as adding a bit more story to this. Going to take a slight break to go work on the concept sheet and figure out the colors

Playing with colors now. Should have the final concept sheet an everything done by the deadline. No time to sleep. Someone remind me to not do values again. Next time I'm starting with colors.

I did like your other character, but this one is very cool as well.

Her left foot on the front view looks like it should be facing forward a little more.
The proportions are looking solid and the design is very well thought out.

Personally I like the orange and blue color scheme best.

@glubglubz I like the other character as well but I got a little bored and a tad bit frustrated. I will definitely come back and do a polish past on him after art war is over. So look forward to that over on my blog/sketchbook. Glad you like the new character and thanks for the feedback. Are you referring to the concept sheet or the one in the illustration?

@aeguilrod Thanks for the feedback as well. Will pose some updates later today. Only 3 days left. Hopefully I can achieve what I want. And yes no more values.

Ok so the concept sheet is 90% done in my opinion. The pose of the hand will be changed, just thinking of cool ideas. That's why it's not finished or painted. Also going to add some more decals to finalize everything. I went back to my original color palette because the problem with the orange and blue was my eyes saw the armor before seeing the face. That's not what I wanted personally. When I'm 100% finished, I will also upload them to into my first post. Now back to the illustration. Not sure what else I have to add. I should've planned a bit better but oh well. No time to complain.

The evolution of your ideas is great! It's obvious you are improving a lot since this latest one kicks ass!

PS: The perspective of the circular things on her back is a bit too frontal.. should be more 3/4th angle.

Thanks a lot for the feedback and glad you like the character. Glad to hear. As for the weapon, I made them flat as to make it easier to show off but with a little paint over and photoshop tricks, this can be fixed in the next 2 days.

Mmm I guess some kind of note on what's the function of those floating devices would be useful. It would also be nice if she looked at one of creatures in the forest, maybe reaching out to one of them, to interact more with her surroundings.

Thanks for the suggestion. I added a hand off in the corner to give her a reason to look towards the viewer. The hand is reaching out to grab a creature. and she's here to protect the village. This is why I have her in a battle ready pose. Showing off what the weapons can do might be hard but I'll work something out hopefully.
