Not much to this charcter as of yet. All I know is that he's going to be a tinkerer that uses a rifle.

Nice sketches bro, I like that metal poncho. The gun sketches are cool too but if he's a tinkerer wouldnt it be better if his weapon is something like a blowtorch or a hammer something to weld metal? Idk, you don't have to listen to me just throwing ideas,lol.

Thanks, glad you like em.

I'm gunna include some of his equipment on his person but the main reason he has a gun is the idea sorta of started with it. I wanted to design a rifle that had an attachment (the round chamber) that could be swapped out to modify how the gun fired. Then I Thought about what kind of character would use it, and it only made sense to have the person who built it use it.

Thus the decision to make him a tinkerer.

Wasn't to happy with the direction of the character, so I'm starting over.

I felt like my current character had a really boring silhouette and he just felt sort of boring to me.

Gunna be working on this character instead.
Same name, but instead he'll be a robotic character armed with an oversized rifle, cause I thought it would be fun

The main aspect of the new design visually are his hips, which are essentially ammo canisters.

hey, i respect your courage to start over! im pretty sure you'll end up with better results. However, with these set of thumbnails, i feel like 'exploration' is lacking, it seems like you stuck with one silhouette option and went with it.

Unless you've already had different options that you didn't post, I feel like you can benefit from exploring more silhouette shapes.

disregard all line works and details, and simply explore what kinds of shapes you can come up with for your new character, only by using pure black silhouettes. I feel like you can come up with more interesting shapes by that way

And yeah, you're probably right. Normally I go through the silhouetting process, but when I restarted I had such a clear vision of the body I wanted for the new character that I ended up skipping the step.

I don't mind taking a step back and making some.

Some more updates

Made a render for the front view. Haven't added the gun since I still wanna work on revisions for it

I had a problem with colors, cause he felt to desaturated at first.
But then after a while I decided to embrace the grundge, and with some advice from a friend I added some oxidation to his body to add some cool color to his design.

I wanna fix his left arm, it has so many tangent lines.... holy shit
