Finally getting my butt to work, haha.

Here's 36 thumb silhouettes to generate an even 50-50 ratio of female and male characters.
Hoping to solidify the concept behind him/her and where he/she plays a role in this whole war between genres!

Took some of the stronger silhouettes to an actual thumbnail!
Now need to start reiterating these thumbs and do some portrait/character exploration. Cheers!

very nice silhouettes! I think the first one from the left on the top row and 3rd one from right on the top row are also very strong silhouettes! nonetheless awesome stuff cant wait for more!

Thanks a lot! Been awhile since I've done silhouettes, haha. Hopefully I get to solidify a process for everything, especially concept design ones!

Narrowed down to 9 thumbs I wanted to push and applied some light/form touches to see how they would read if rendered.
Also, exploring tattoos, accessories, and support for the character's personality!

Nice silhouettes and small colour addition give a really nice touch !

Are the sort of symbols to the bottom left are patterns or something else ?

nice! I also noticed you wrote "korean folklore" and it got me curious what kind of korean folklore are you thinking about? I'm korean too, so maybe I can help haha

That's a very nice approach conceptwise to generate many ideas first and then gradually choose from them, rather than focus on one character right away. I'm very curious not only about the final design but all your way there! Good luck : )

@mr_dessin Thanks! The symbols are more accessories! So sorta, haha. Trying to go for an Asian tribal sort of theme with the accessories~

@Steve_Kim Ooh, a fellow Korean?! I'm not sure honestly, just yet, haha. I'm just waiting for the Goblin drama's finale, so maybe came from there! I actually did a 3D animation project (poopy tho) of the Sun & Moon this past semester, though. Lots to play around with!

@zachnik-jakub Mhm! It's actually an approach Anthony Jones taught me in one of his mentorships, back when I had no clue how to "concept art", haha. I'm quite excited for the illustration part because that's where I can just go all out!!

Kind of "trashed" all the thumbs and went for something more my 'style', lines!
Made a full out lineworking of Kaleidoscope! Also blocked in overall colors to set the scheme/tone.

Essentially done with my character sheet! Might render the front view more later on, though.

Completely scratch my previous one! Puahaha. Looked more like a scifi getup than a fantasy set. So, painted all over it and here she is! Now, on to iterations to get the best Kaleidoscope design I can.

This is getting quite FUN! Going to set up the lighting situation and tinker with the chaos in the bottom of the canvas. Hope I get to finish it as I envision it in my head!!!

Oh boi. Big update! Started rendering the face and dress, going to plan out the bottom composition so it flows with the entire piece! Gotta beat those robots up with the element of surprise: reflection!
