Is fantasy the ultimate genre? Well, these are the strong words, but I like fantasy the most, so we will stick with that 
My champion is the leader of the exotic, ancient city (a' la Byzantium), which is connected with alchemy and magic practises. In order to stop the growing expansion of the outerspace colonies he declared a war and with a help of magic turned his body into walking, massive destruction weapon - he spits fire, fights with flaming weapons, can explode destroying buildings, space ships and mechs. The fire sprinklers are his only weakness (like kryptonite for Superman)
