For your final illustration I would try and make sure your characters is the number 1 priority and that important parts of his design/silhouette read clearly. I know this is maybe a bad advice...but when I don't like something...
better to start from scratch (I don't mean your character - he's really overcool, keep it )

I just meant the composition - but sure it's yet a lot to re-do
Try more compositions...till you find the one you really really, I mean really dig !

Just suggestions from a bad "compositioner" ^^'

But I can guess you'll have better advices from master on here

Trying to setup light, I feel exhausted. I don't have too much experience at rendering huge art pieces, so lighting is a painful process to me. I prefer second variant a little more, but first picture seems more cozy and warm...
If some God of Lighting reading this, give me some advice about it, please!

Sorry already if I can't really help with the lighting...but I'm seeing another problem here
The left arm looks a bit short to me and his whrist look a bit weird (too big I think), and I feel so sad I didn't notice it before

Best of luck for the tweaks & finishes - and to maybe find somebody with master light skillz !

I'm not any god of lightning (far from it) but I think that overall your image is really dark, and there's not a clear separation on fore, middle and background. So what I would do is work this balance watching the image in black and white.

I did a really quick paintover in the second image - I hope you don't mind - showing mostly the things that I would do, so I hope it helps you somehow.
