Hey Everyone! I'm very excited to be working in this contest and look forward to your feedback. Here is a small brief I created to suss out what I wanted to accomplish with this project.

Champion: Rasha Loaegeth
Class: Ranged DPS
Setting: Fantasy
Genre: MOBA

A powerful magic user who radiates arrogance. If she had an alignment it would probably be Lawful Evil, she believes there are those born to lead, those to serve and those who are in her way.

I began with ten flat silhouettes and then picked my favorites (2, 4, 9).

From there I refined the silhouettes, blocking out with value.

Any feedback on favorite picks (2, 4, 9)? Let me know! In the meantime I will be doing exploratory work to pin down Rasha's look & feel.

Thanks, it was my goal to get them as clear as possible as I tend to rush past basic shape language and doodle. I pushed my favorites with tone after my roommate gave me a good crit haha

Hey all, I went with the fourth silhouette and began an initial sketch and from there it just kind of flowed out pretty easily. The result has a sort of chimera meets trickster look that I'm really digging.

While initially I had intended for Rasha to have a head covering or mask of some sort, I really liked how the horns were working out and started exploring some aztec or mayan influences.

Next step for me will to gather some high quality references and begin some heavy design iteration so I can nail this sucker. Hopefully work can give me a break so I can get more done this week ;_;

Minor update, working on trunarounds now, but i want to post the other angle callouts when it is farther along. For now here is front view and portrait.

Another update, been working on finishing up my back view and polishing the elements of my concept sheet as a I begin doing thumbs for my character illustration. Doing the feet in reverse was a major pain, I'm looking forward to doing more turnaround studies in the future to up my speed.

Pulling it all together, this week I didnt really make the solid progress on the starting the illustration that I had wanted, but I now have a clear idea of what direction I wish to pursue.

Lol, I don't even know what gradient maps & paths are yet, but it looks like they are working well for you! May I suggest that the fingers be a bit thinner/longer ish? Possibly longer or pointy nails too would look more feminine? Even though I'm sure she's very bad ass, she looks like the type that likes to keep up appearances, and the short heavier fingers/nails look too masculine, to me anyway.

EXTENDED DEADLINE THANK GOD. This extra day will allow me to bump this up to a level of polish I can be happy with.

Spent these past two days raising the overall quality bar, and focusing in on unifying the lighting situation + atmosphere. I'm feeling very positive about this and cant wait to get crackin again.

@tiia Sorry I haven't gotten to resolving the hand issues but they are next on my list!!!
