hello everyone. so this will be the first concept for my entry, just sketching out ideas. my current image of a hero is some angel boy, in clothes that maybe give off some eastern-european traditional costumes vibe. as for his powers i'm thinking on either a sword (power eheh) or some magic, but prolly a sword.
i'm also here for the first time and very confused so hopefully this message won't end up on someone's other topic///

okaay back to the combat angel. i've drawn few things with line here n there, but then finally surrendered to my most favorite thing in the world < the color >. i've been experimenting lately with the drawing steps and, although it have helped to improve my drawing process quite a bit, i keep coming back to drawing everything at once without a proper preparation heheh///
this color sketch does not necessarily represent the final character design or composition of the painting, but now i at least have more clear image of this character and now can work on all designy details and all that stuff for concept art sheet.

mkay so here's my further exploration of character's pose, color and also design. added some leather armor to the clothes plus metal chain armor to the wings.

soo i've been thinking what to do with his head and ended up with a metal mask and glowy eyes. here's a bunch of options (i sure had fun with those), which ones stand out for you the most?

I know its a little late, but I think that I most dig 4C. The half metal seems very interesting and that shape lets you put as much expression as you want into the flesh half and leave it kind of supernatural looking with the Mask half.

The blush is a nice touch :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, I had similar thoughts but I dumped them cuz I wanted to keep 'em rosy cheeks. Dunno why i thought that blush wouldn't work just on one side, i should definitely try it.. so thanks))

Such a great design! I personally would remove the blush aspect of the metal mask, it just seems a bit too much. Other that that everything works perfectly so far. Also, your work is amazing, I love the way you sketch and paint. I can see you did many master studies of old European masters :smile: .

Thanks for the kind words тт I decided to abandon mask for now cuz it didn't really click with me, and overall i made a little redesign, i'll put a picture later.

heeey so i havent been uploading for a while but here's what ive got so far. work havent been going very smooth but this morning i got an idea to give him a different weapon but it will prolly affect the rest of his outfit and final illustration aswell. overall feels like it s gonna be very fun times when deadline comes closer hehe he
