Final art.
I choose Heroes this year.

Zmai Fir is the last of a long lost race of dragon tamers. They are taught to use the harp to ride the dragon and to use the staff to channelize concentrated energy.

A little late but these are some rough first ideas for the composition, I'll decide which one to go with while I work on some character sketches.

The bottom left might be to far away and perhaps won't have enough detail on the character so I think that one might be out. I like the movement on the first two, and the symmetry of the bottom right.

Thank you!
I think its the most dynamic shot of the four as well, I might go for this one!

Here is some development on the character, I liked the idea of her skin bright red to make some nice contrast with more clear colors on the background or have a white /gray dragon she'll be ridding, not sure on the head gear. perhaps she'll have none but we'll see how it goes.
Also some development on the props she will be using.

Regards!

Here's a very rough sketch to start with the official art, I decided to go with the first thumbnail as I think is more dynamic.
Defining color palette and composition at this stage. For the dragon I´m taking my reference from Falkor from "Never Ending Story" because... I love Falkor.

More updates, adjusted a little bit more the composition and changed the dragon's face.

Decided to redesign dragon´s head + added some head gear. Showing a shooting beam from her staff / wand. Times running out so I better keep working on it

This is looking great, the texture variety that you are bound to have looks like it will be very fun to explore.

Thank you! and you´re right, its a fun task to achieve different textures and get the right feeling out of them.

This is turning out pretty great! I'm particularly fond of this dragon.
I just think there is a problem of scale with the demons. If you compare the size of the hero to the size of the dragon's body it's not quite the same as demon's body versus dragon's body ratio.
