His sidekick is a robot of his own design that he commands and controls fully when in combat.
Here are my explorations thus far :smiley: sized roughly according to my preference, let me know your favourites!

These are super solid, mechanical stuff like this never comes out of my brain this well lol Good stuff. I think the top right has the most obviously striking appearance but any of them could work well enough if they're put in the right situation I image, look forward to seeing where this goes.

Thanks for your thoughts everyone, I've started pushing 8, 12, and 13/4.
Really enjoying messing around with the classic mecha vibe, though I will try to start looking for ways to put my own twist on it...

B feels very "douchy" it fits well for a villain
But if you want a villain that blends in and reveal later that he's the villain then I'd say A works best :smiley:

C seems like its the most authentic to the character. <3 just introverted, lame and tired as hell because hes working on his passion all the time... oh wait. i think i am that person. xD C for sure.

I'm finding approaching the illustration really difficult, I seem to have no internal vision of what i want this to look like :stuck_out_tongue:

However I might be getting somewhere with a rough story for the illustration, whilst I originally just had him terrorising people I might give him the goal of attacking something to try and disrupt the social order
I figured that maybe some sort of organic AI (glowy green thing) that runs the cities' infrastructure could be a target for him as it would be the culmination of the human behaviour he has always be exiled from and has grown to hate.

no doubt whatever composition you chose is going to be stellar, however, i’m eager to see what it might look like if you did a shot of him in the cockpit/control center of his robot. Maybe show off exactly how his cyberpathy works : o

@rgdraw but those tree are so organic and vibrant xD I love scifi and fantasy, but I've been finding hardsurface to be quite challenging to make so visually appealing :stuck_out_tongue:

@MODOF I did alot of what I'll call 'simulated photobashing'; using textured brushes and then selecting and copying chunks of my painting. This is most obviously used when I have repeated a slice to imply perspective and extra detail on a wall. But even on the robot himself, I painted one hand then just copied and warped it over to the other one.

Also, although they're not the main focus - love the little guys running around (one of them kinda looks like a surprised Pikachu so bonus points for that :D)
