The first mortal and the second to die makes a deal with the God of Death for immortality. What could possibly go wrong?

I learned so much doing this and have improved in ways I couldn't expect thanks to this competition. Can't wait to look back at this years challenge like the one I did last year. Goodluck to all

The idea behind Morphos a.k.a Dr. Henry Ezulrick (the archaeologist) is that his obsession with finding the temple of Death lead to him losing his job and family. This didn't stop him from continuing the search and only added to his declining mental health a strong hatred for his superiors. Once Henry found the sacred temple, he drank from the well of Morphos the embodiment of death which in turn bound him and Death to each other's will.

Easily swayed by "The Call of Destruction," Henry's struggle is a combination of disdain for life and a desire to maintain control over the gifts he has traded his humanity for.

Did some quick thumbnails of Morphos using his collected souls as a weapon. I wanted to give off the feeling of momentum and weight within these almost cloudless faces. The souls he uses are individuals he and others before him have collected since the beginning of life.

Oh these are fun! I think that you really accomplished giving them weight in several of the shots as you mentioned. I like the one second row on the left and the bottom left corner the most, they are the most "out there".

Keep it up!

Hey, Thanks Pete I really appreciate that. Working on some more thumbs rn and have taken this into consideration 😁👌

Just going along and counting, I would say that 3 and 5 are my fav from those.

At this stage, I create a semi-final design for the character. I say semi-final because 5 percent of this design may change if it helps the composition or any unforeseen problems arise. After this, I'll begin working on the color composition of Morphos.
