working on the concept sheet for a change, I feel like my fatal flaw is working on the final illustration while totally half assing the concept sheet, so for once, i’m going to. Not do that.

Color test For Concept sheet! I wanted to see if he’d still look evil even with a lighter color pallet. IMO, i feel like shape language is a bigger element in villains.

i can get out all of my insufferable need to experimental paint on the concept sheet, so I don’t have to make atrocities on my final illustration. Anyway, here’s another WiP of the concept sheet.

Great design and awesome facial expressions! I feel like the hand area could use some more icemaster elements, but that might be just me, they just seem a little... missmatched? compared to his whole outfit (On a tangent - he feels like he's gonna explain his evil plan any second now :D) Damn, he's cool (pun maybe intended)

Did some different color options... The first one has the best contrast, but is a little too monochrome for my liking, so i’ll screw around a little more with it.

Throw flecks of blue in that monochrome one and we have a deal! j/k But for the sake of villainy you have a tough choice. Great development to scroll though too.

I did some thinking, and did a few changes. I kind of wanted to have a more direct link between him and the ice dragon, as well as some asymmetrical elements. I wanted a more sleek look to him.

Great changes, the floating ice shards (I assume) are a nice touch ^^ I feel like he does have some dragon aspects about his look as well (in the vein of the polymorphic dragon aspects from Warcraft or Sleeping beauty (that's an example combination I never imagined hearing, let alone writing personally :D)

I’ve got two different compositions for a final illustration, because the last one felt a little too energetic for this newer iteration of him... choices choices. The top one is kind of a hero vs villain analogy, where the dragon has a lion in its jaws (A heroic animal, i’ll add lion motif’s to the ‘hero’ character to make a clear link, and symbolize the soon to be defeat of said character.)

The bottom one is just “Look at me showing off my ice dragon isn’t he cool?”
