So here's a first drawing I did. It looks a bit random, well because it kind of is! I was thinking about what sort of villain I could do and I started with the middle face. Then it just devolved into this thing. :laughing:

It does give me a few potential design elements that I can use, possibly something biomechanical. I never did that, so that could be interesting. I do like the face though. It's a little bit creepy which I think is fitting.

We'll see how that goes!

I like where she's going, but I admit I feel like I should maybe restart from scratch and begin with a superpower from which I design a character. Because right now, I really don't know what her superpower could be and I feel that's an important part of this whole contest. I'll have to ponder over it.

i really like the very first sketch coz it made me feel like she's wearing this giant armor with human faces on the side.
the bone structure is pretty cool. love them bones :smiley:
but, anyway, i'd say explore more if you feel like it, because you always can go back to what you have.
Ask yourself lot's of questions because i find that it helps a ton (what's the power, what's the location, what's the mechanic behind it, what's the personality (is she cute, sexy, masculine, etc), etc)

No art for this update, I'm just going to share some thoughts. So sorry in advance, it's going to be a long read.

I did a bit of thinking and research and I think I may have found some ideas that will allow me to keep the same character. I found my inspiration while reading about aztec mythology. There were some deities that I think could fit with what I already have.

First, the god of death Mictlantecuhtli: A skinless skeleton with a huge open mouth used to swallow dying stars and men. Wears jewelry made of humain remains, such as a necklace made out of human eyes.

Then Cipactli: a sea creature part crocodilian, part fish and part toad. Is always hungry and every one of its joints is adorned with a mouth.

So this gives me a few potential design elements and I thought that my character's power could be something like lifeforce/soul absorbtion. Maybe she could have a passive ability that make things directly around her decay, but then she could open her mouth (or multiple mouths) to actively absorb the life out of people on a much larger scale.

I still need to think about it a little, but I think it's the beginning of something!

New sketch, where I'm just throwing some of the new stuff I thought of on my character. Still pretty similar, but with a few new things. But I think now I'm ready to do a proper reference/inspiration board and start working on a more proper concept sheet. It should be fun :smile:

Love the first sketch here! Like where it's going as well, your reference board s looking good. Would be awesome if you can mix some of that Giger feeling with your own flavour and make it unique. Lots of potential for a great one. Any update recently? Good luck to you!

Thank you to both of you @werecat_way and @hellwigart. I don't have much progress for various reasons, but I'm slowly getting back into it.

I moved forward a little with the front and back view, but it's still in the early rough stages. I also still need to find an idea for my illustration, so I'm not even sure if I'll be able to finish in time :sweat_smile:

Haha, that would be really cool.
As for the finished work, I stopped working on this piece as I realized I would never manage to finish on time. But I do want to get back to it, I just want to finish some of the other stuff I have going on right now.
