So I what I'm going for is this heavy metal powered biker/gangster look for a villain. After some idea brewing came up with these. But there is this problem of giving them a superpower. I wonder if giving them a sci fi bat or armour would count as one. Drew some more and made her more scifi/fantasy like.

This is what I've got for now. Not much time on my hands so I guess the final design will be more or less similar to this. Current concerns: Not sure if ditching the jacket is a good idea, maybe it should stay, and the pants are kind of bland. Got some ideas about the super power; will see if any of them fit.

Jacket is back now. She definitely needed it. Lots of points of interest in the torso area and head, so the pants stay as is (mostly). Got some different head variants this time as well.

I like the jacket. Head: 4 - looks interesting. I think it's good when
tribal tattoos are only on the horns. when tattoos are on the head and
the horns is too much(7). Will be following.

2, 3 & 5 looks interesting.
Hard to choose (but I sure do enjoy the neon tints of 3rd, and of course for nice contrast in dark places) !

Yeah, I liked that head too. I would've probably gone with it if I was drawing a rebel girl, but it has to read as a villain. Same reasoning goes for the colours I guess. 3 and 5 make her look cold and 2 reads as rage. Though I do like some stuff from other combinations. I have to think about it before continuing.

It sure is super hard to choose colours when our brain is telling us (for instance) : "ok, if you put red skin it makes me think of Hellboy/raged devil"...and this sort of stuffs...

Maybe because of horns too ?
Or try to make very different shapes of horns, maybe ?

An idea for the super power. Sort of like Cyclops from X-men with his visor. When the golves are taken off she gets to unleash destructive power from her hands (not necessarily shooting lasers, it could be super strength instead). Not yet fleshed out, but I feel like it'd be cool. I plan to give her a bat too, for good measure. Made a (very) rough sketch to get a feel for it.

Sounds very nice !
I like the arm stuffs too...and Cyclops is probably one of my favourite character (probably like many X-men lovers...).

Can't wait for the illustration ^^

Holy weekend has come, and I've finally got time to move onto the illustration. Right, when I came back to my character I really disliked where it was going. I wasn't seeing this "heavy metal powered" biker/gangster. And to think I was gonna give her magic hands too? Yuck. It'll have to go through some slight redesigning, but I'm running low on time so It'll happen on the fly.
I'd like some Mad Max vibe in it. All of this came to me after I did some trash thumbnails. Tough times, man.

2 & 3 looks cool (but a bit complicate / long time to create all characters around maybe ?)
Last one could be interesting as well (and less time consuming ?) !

Looking back at my post, I think I wasn't nearly clear enough, my bad. The first few were the "original character". 1st - I thought she'd have super strenght or something, 2nd & 3rd - getting her a bat, maybe put her in a brawl. Only after drawing these did I want to redesign. The last one will be the illustration I'm going with, though I'll be changing the characters look on the fly. But, yeah, previous ones did show some promise.
Edit: @mr_dessin
not sure if I need to add the "@", will do anyway

This is starting to take some shape  .

Would you perhaps consider rotating her pose a little towards the camera or away. Sort of like the Original Doom Cover.

It looks like she has Mountain Goat Feet,

I second that it's starting to look pretty cool! Even if you don't rotate the character, maybe separate her legs a bit, so that they don't merge in the sillhouette. Only now do I realise her weapon is a guitar, I thought it's a pipe wrench or something
Good luck!

Little update: It looked awkward to me as well and I wanted to perserve the pose so the composition works. To fix that I made pants a bit less baggy, slim-fit even. Added some details in the clothes and now I'm experimenting with these minions. They look bad, but it's just an idea for now.
Edit: forgot to add these

Feedback appreciated

I think it looks awesome so far! I think going with the "safer" choice was fine - she's the main focal point and this showcases it well.

Woah pretty cool, the tattoos and decals give it a lot of richness, I'm looking forward to this, keep it up! :+1:
