Asteria is a villain named after the Greek Goddess of falling stars. She has 12 eyes, 6 arms and fluorescing eyes. Her eyes see into alternate dimensions of space/time, her arms conjure wormholes.

When Asteria conjures a wormhole with her many arms she cannot travel through it but can send others into the alternate realities she perceives , leaving them lost to their own world forever. Alternatively, she can send them on a whirlwind through many realities simultaneously until they lose consciousness so that she can take over their bodies in whatever dimension she chooses and make them do her bidding.

This is my first Art War contest and I know I'm a little late getting started but I'm getting excited to flesh out the concept I've created with the help of my 10 year old son! One day, he will make a fantastic concept artist himself!

Blocking out my character. Getting a feel of where her 6 arms will attach and added 2 eyes to make 12 total. I've been experimenting a bit with hairstyles vs no hair. Giving her a hairstyle is difficult considering how much forehead real estate her eyes take up! I'm really liking this mohawk though and think I'll keep it this way.
As you can tell, this is a stylized villian!

so, I like this color combination best. The rings above her head and on her wrists will be light/energy rings that help her make contact with the parallel realities. I'm not sure if I want to create eyelashes for her extra pairs of eyes or not because I'm unsure if that will add or detract from the aesthetic of the character. Any critique would be helpful and appreciated at this point. I'm completely self-taught and am lacking in feedback when it comes to my work. Thanks so much if you've made it this far!

designing her Wormhole and light ring effect that appears when conjuring

Another wormhole idea came to me when i was falling asleep last night.

creating power objects for each of her hands. So far she has sword, severed head and a faceted round crystal(soccer ball shaped). Going to work on a dagger next and a simple pyramid.

I love the "Shiva" related characters who have multiple hands and your concept is no exception.

I also like the fact that there are more eyes than usual in this character. Although I think there's still room for improvement in the placement of the eyes. Maybe they can be place more in a triangular-net form? Not sure but that's just what came to my mind.

I know that you're in the "Villain" team but my first impression about your character was "aw how cute". I'm not sure if that's what you want as a villain. I somehow know the reasons; Big eyes and big head... these are mostly used for friendly characters. Maybe try to scale down the head, make the body bigger, so it looks more evil (it is all about proportions). The rest of the forms are great!

One last suggestion... How about making the main eyes white and give the iris and the pupil to rest of the eyes?

She was way too cute! I made her head smaller and changed the arrangement of her eyes. I think she’s looking better and more adult.

I've been crazy busy with holiday stuff but decided to redesign her sword.

It's sad to say, but my Zbrush files of this character have become hopelessly corrupted, so as a result I will most likely not be submitting my final character. It's dissapointing but on to the next thing i suppose...
