I'm quite unsure about the size of the human inside this machine. I have two options for that:
1. Making the center of the machine bigger so the character inside can be seen.
2. Replace the character inside the machine with a big hand holding a pen, drawing on a screen.
So yeah. I would love to hear from you.

Sure, maybe instead of a big hand, keep the dude, add a hand? or two? and add all the drawing elements like you already have, paint ect, things like this.
You already seem to be headed in that direction, different idea not bad, refine it more, if i had to say something.

By "the dude" do you mean the little (really tiny) character in the machine? or the floating head? Because the guy behind the two monitors already has two hands. I assume it is so small in the video that can be missed really easily.
Robot or the floating head, was directed at the robot but i suppose it can work for either. I'll probably like whatever update comes.
Today I realized that concept art is somehow a challenge for me. Maybe I am better in the cartoony style, but for serious stuff (more detailed) I need to study a bit more.
Here's the result of the struggle I had so far. I hope I can get into 3D at some point before the deadline. "The clock is ticking"
Maybe to even save on even more time make the "desk", surround his legs so you can't see them. 
(i.e. block where you just see his mid stomach up, shadowing out the rest below)

I like the idea of covering the legs. The legs actually don't play a big role in the overall character (robot+passenger). So probably they'll be covered, giving more room to scale up the passenger.
I also like the fight scene you mentioned. everything needs to be rigged and stuff, but it would be fun to do after the contest.

I also dropped the idea of flying. From now on this robot is a jumper... 
I'll probably give it a kind of portal-making-capability in order to be present instantly everywhere.
Sup, I feel like A makes more sense. It will be easier for him to get in and out of this cockpit, without the need to go under or over the table :3

Looks sweet. Will he have any kind of seatbelt? I can imagine it is quite shaky inside during the movement 
it's looking great but I think the brain should be bigger and more exaggerated like in your original sketch.
Yes, you're right.
The problem is I want to make it as the pilot is just an artist sitting in his room and the rest of the world is being seen through his monitors... I made a test based on your words, maybe that can do the trick. (gonna send it right away)

Hello again,
So far I was struggling with the design, playing with the floating head and so forth. I'll probably give the floating head some sci-fi wings, but for now I'm pretty happy with this direction. Of course I'll add more details to the legs and complete the incomplete parts (it is still rather messy)
