Hi everyone!

I'll be joining team Sci-Fi with Astrogirl!

While any army can field their scores of steadfast warriors and elite soldiers, no self-respecting company is complete without an advance guard, the pathfinders to signal the all-clear - scouts! Astrogirl (name pending) is just such an explorer, inspired heavily by my own affection and interest in space exploration and humanity's scientific progress towards the stars. I'll be pulling inspiration from NASA's space program, a little bit of retro-futurism, and a healthy dose of Overwatch design optimism and aesthetic.

First up, inspiration board!

Adding a secondary reference board so I have a record of my train-of-thought for this one.

A couple things I'm pulling from this one:

• Finding an appealing way of wrapping some of NASA's current astronaut
  EVA suit design into something new/simplified.
• Reference space shuttle and other space agency's color palette
• Utilize the concepts researchers at MIT are using in developing the
  BioSuit, a huge leap forward in EVA wearable-technology.

I'll be adding some initial design sketches when I have a chance, but I might end up developing much of the "concept" as I go. We'll have to wait and see.

Finally found some time to actually get started!

For realizies though, I'll have to seriously pick up the pace to catch up to some of you guys.

First up, block-ins. Not much, but it's something.

Most of this is fairly place-holder anatomy markers as I haven't made a decision on her final proportions and she's going to be largely covered in suit/gear. I'll hammer out a decent head sculpt next so she can woo you guys with her cute mug. Hopefully. I will also get a more thought-out final concept sketch uploaded so you can see roughly where I'm heading.

I PROMISE I'M NOT DEAD! ... Just perhaps a bit overworked. ^_^

I'm only just now getting some serious time to dig into my project so hopefully I can carve what I'll need in this next month. Nothing like deadlines to motivate and inspire!

Anyway, decided to rough in her face a bit to test out some style landmarks. I'm not at all satisfied with her direction yet, but this is a decent starting point to work from. Going to need to stop procrastinating and actually do some sketches like I said I would. Stay tuned!
