@fantasymaster @zyp Thanks you two, @maxloegler ask and you shall recieve
Anywho morning people! Had a hard time with the designs on this, but I'm much closer to figuring out the direction I want to pull her. Definitely understanding more of which elements of each design I like and will wanna include in the final design (definitely leaning towards keeping bigger shapes for most of the ornamentation and clothing, using detail in key areas).
I don't know, feel free to let me know what you guys think of them so far! None of this is final so I'm open to suggestion.
@rafaeldioli @klautier Thank you!
@maxloegler I'm actually not that big a fan of E haha, didn't want to go full persian/southeast asian with the clothing, but definitely drew some inspiration from it.
@bloecher Right!? I agree, though I'm not sure what I'll mix in there, don't want to do alot of jewelry on it because it'll draw attention away from the headpiece
@grigouips I'm actually thinking along the same lines haha. I like the A-symmetry of D's bra, but the transparency with accents from E/F is a nice touch. I do want to have both legs pretty exposed though since she's more of a wild dancer, so I want the energy of the exposed legs, vs the civility of the long skirt. I'm thinking of using the transparent clothes to address the silhouette break-up that B's skirt achieves, but maybe more as a long side sash? still got some experimentation to do, you may wind up being right in the end
@sarawildeart Thank you! I definitely like the transparency going on with E's clothes, just not her lower body attire, the middle sash particularly; distracts the silhouette of her legs (which I do want). I like C's plume on the back of her head, but the straight bangs are kinda killing it for me, especially since I'm going to have a glowy type thing going on with the eyes and I want a semi even space around them before any contrast is there.
Gotta eat then getting back into it!
Alright guys, took the feedback and what I liked about the designs, and I've come up with this. Added the side skirt to get the silhouette break that B had, while adding the transparency from E through the side skirt, while keeping the hair from D.
I'm thinking I'm going to thicken the tattoo around her abdominal, since it feels alittle too wispy right now and unclear with how the shape reads (already getting small shape detail from the jewlery/ornaments). May be adding tattoo's around her ankles, and changing some of the shapes within the headband, but I'd be ok with sculpting now. Still taking feedback and suggestions, so feel free to comment!
BOOBS, BOOBS AND BUM!! thats me sold lol... seriously i do love the cute look to this character, great start man. liking the outfit design so far. did you ever think of a hooded head scarf thingy could maybe look cool that would drape round her shoulders and give her mor flowey fabric that gypsies tend to have, just a thought
@Maxloegler Thanks man!
@Alien_hand Hahaha, it's one of those "sexy / beauty of the natural body" type things. I did! but I do want her to show off the body mainly, I think a lot of open skin on a dancer has an air of confidence, so I didn't want to enclose that confidence with a lot of layers
@Crazymoon haha, thanks man! I love tackling strange shader challenges, especially since I'll be doing it in Marmoset.
@Ndevos Thank you! Still a few things I want to push like the nostril shape and parts of the check where the laugh line crosses.
@Art1ficer Thanks man, but she's no slave Keepin at it!
@MisterWolfen I'm tryin haha, haven't gotten back to that part in full, but I'm experimenting with some extra forms for the side sash
@engcenti Thanks!
Alrighty guys, finally gettin this WIP up, trying to get all the forms in so everything will be ready for sculpting, still got the most to go with in the hair and the side sash, but it's getting along. The original Lotus idea I had in the design didn't look good when I tried sculpting it, so I did a similar pendant on the top to use on the skirt. Used Zbrush native subtool transparency to simulate the idea for the transparent cloth. As always feel free to C&C!
