Hello there!

I am enthusiastic to participate this contest and hope you'll like my champion.
To represent the fantasy side I chose a vegetal creature: Lady Drosera, Queen of the Magic Gardens!

I imagine this champion as a summoner, building thorny-walls to protect/trap and rising deadly carnivorous plants. I'll focus on 3 elements:
- Carnivorous plants (drosera) as the main aspect. I really like the differents designs we can find in these species, specially the different ways to trap insects.
- Thorns plants, to build the body and give a very dynamic line of action.
- Flowers, for the grace (she's a Queen!) and the ability to have hiding patterns under UV-light.

This is the design I'll enhance. The torso is closer to human anotomy and made with bramble, like an organic rib-cage/skeleton. The bottom is more like a gorgon to keep the vegetal aspect and play with the curve. The head is a burgeon inside a beautiful and colorful flower of carnivorous plant. The "crown" is a particularity of some drosera, like spikes with bubble of glue. And of course some magic fx

Love the nature (heh) of doing plant themed semi-humanoids, there's always a lot of room for creativity. Looking forward to your WIPs!

cool idea!
I like that you added a venus fly trap, although its not that obvious that it's currently there. Maybe you could have loads of venus fly traps at the base of the main character, like they are eating things to give nutriance to the main character. They would operate almost like a separate entity!

Hi there! Sorry for the lack of updates, I'm very busy currently

Still doing concept arts, searching the right mood/composition to lead this project. Some elements could be re-use for the final render.

I'm finishing some clean concepts and posting all of this the weekend! I have also an alternative as a warrior rather than a summoner, using venus fly trap as a deadly shield.

However I need your feedback about the head of the character. I always found it too simple so I redesigned it. It's mainly petals and leaves wrapped on a burgeon. Here is some variations with a preview of the color pattern I'll use.

Let me know which one your prefer

A lot of people love the H, so I pick this one. This is my current design, still a rough painting but enough to start 3D! Comments are welcomed, any idea to improve the assymetry ?

Hello!
After reflections and asking friends, some elements of my design doesn't worked well. For example, body and head don't match.
So I decided to rework her, with a more darker, powerful and feminine feeling. Also testing a different color scheme. And here it is: D

Definietly happier with this, especially with this pose that I imagine printed on my desk! Comment and advices welcomed. I'll start the 3D now.

Hey

First sculpt pass. I like pods on the shoulders, but it is difficult to mix them properly with the body; Perhaps best with petals like the concept arts?

What I dislike and needs to be corrected:
- Petals on forearms, looks strange / tiny.
- Breast / breast too big
- Symmetry.

I have to improve it in order to keep an imposing, but magestuous and feminine look. C&C welcomed

Super dope, very interesting shape. Its the leaves things above the mouth that bugged me.
I think a queen should not have a mustache.
Seriously loving the design though.

I reworked some shapes to enhance the overall silhouette, pretty happy with the result!
Even adding more vines and thorns on the main spine, I'll start detailing/retopo. For texturing and rendering, maybe it's better this time to stay with zbrush and comp the passes in photoshop.

Personally really like C :3 I also tend to go for more noisy models though..
