Hey guys! My name is Dave and I'll be working on the side of Fantasy for the Art War. This is my first competition so I'm going to focus on getting everything completed by the deadline and I'll hopefully learn a lot in the process.
My character needs a little more fleshing out, but I'll be making a type of Fantasy-Mech-Golem contraption along with a Gnomish-type of pilot. I mostly just wanted to try and take a Sci-Fi theme and put a Fantasy spin on it. I'm not sure if I want the mech to be more of a huge Mechwarrior type machine, or if it'll be more like a slightly larger-than-human type of machine that is worn like a suit (i.e Megaman X Ride Armor). It'll only be a mech in terms of silhouette and size, but the materials and forms will be more organic and nature-related. I'd like to bring a little influence in from the Lester Abrams style from the old Hobbit cartoon.
I'll be concepting a little bit more before jumping into zBrush but here's my inspiration board to kick things off. If anyone has thoughts, questions, or suggestions in the meantime I'd love to hear from you!
