Hi! I'm Zol, and this is my first competition. I'm gonna give this a go with a charater I've had in my mind since I got interested in 3D art to begin with, and her name is Gehenna.

This is the second time I ever enter a competition, and the first time I finish, so I'm pretty damn stoked about the whole thing!

Alright, I got a super rough concept sheet done! Thought it might be cool to leave the different iterations in there, to show thought process for those interested

I'm absolutely terrible at 2D so this is about as detailed as it's gonna get, just some guidelines to go by. Gonna have to keep at it with some ideation in Zbrush and see if it feels the way I want in 3D. Thanks for stopping by!

Got some work done on her body today. Shoe time tomorrow I think.

So far so good! Really not sure what to with her torso yet, so here's some underboob ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Suggestions are welcome!

I decided I might as well stick with the underboobs. They're nice.
Spent some time getting her mouth in place, and gave her a jacket thing. Also blocked in her sword.

Silhouette looks nice as far as I can tell : )

Some progress! Did a lot of work on the sword today, and there's a lot of change that I just haven't gotten around to post in general.

Made Made some body adjustments, finished the cross, and starting to redo the shoes.

@fantasymaster - Thank you so much I'm pretty happy with her face myself, just gotta decide if I'm doing cards or if I'm sticking with sculpted hair.

I think I'm about as happy as I'm gonna get with my high poly at this point. Moving on to retopology.

I think you had an interesting ideas and initial concepts, but from looking at the zbrush model, I couldn't tell if she was supposed to be fantasy or sci-fi. I only really got the proper vibe after I read that she was supposed to hunting Demons/Angels and that thing on her back is supposed to be an upside-down cross.

One thing I would consider is maybe incorporate more religious, faith or belief based imagery: for example is she based on a Catholic nun? Buddhist monk? Jewish rabbi? Satanic priest? Something of that sort is usually associated strongly with the idea of Demon/Angel hunter and could really help sell the design and story of your character.

@alemja - Thank you so much for your feedback! I'm about to head to work, so I'll have to take the day and think about it, and see what I can do. Now that you mention it, she could absolutely need some stronger reads. So easy to forget these things!

Maybe it would be cool to focus more on the hunter aspect of it than the religious, and have her carry some sort of spoils or trophies around? Either way, she definitely needs more work in the design department.

Woo, decided to add some more stuff to boost her actual character a bit more. Should hopefully be clearer what she's about when these parts are all done!

Let the ponytail go, and finished sculpt on the rest of the pieces. Wing and hair are sort of blobby, but will be supplmented with cards if all goes according to plan (as if anything does kekeke)

Really cool sculpt! I might just remove that wing part to be honest, it's a bit out of place and busy imo. And I'd expect her feet to be a bit bigger.

UPDATE! Got the bakes done - not perfect but I'm satisfied for now

@enalya Thanks so much! I definitely agree with you, already decided to drop it, but not before spending an excessive amount of time retopoing it of course! haha - for the feet I know they should probably be bigger, but I like the way it looks with slightly too small feet
