Hello All,

I will be joining the Fantasy Team!
My entry is based on my D&D character Kaelya.
Her background as a military mage has given her the demeanor to push through any challenge using her prowess with the whip or her vast arsenal of offensive spells. As her exit from the military was somewhat turbulant, she has avoided most officials and has chosen to join a band of misfits on a quest to help the town of Daggerford.

I've been thinking about creating this character for a while, she started as a rough 3d sculpt and I have many sketches of her lying around. I put together a quick anatomy base and came up with a final image and I am currently getting everything blocked in and base-meshed ready to be sculpted properly.

Just about finished up the base mesh. Did a quick block in Marvelous for the clothing panels and then cleaned them all up and blocked in most of her armour and accessories in 3dsmax. Still need to do a proper model of the book, necklace and some other assets. But pretty much happy to move onto sculpting.

I am perhaps going to rethink the back of her jacket a little as I feel from the back the design is a little lacking. Still need to add her tail and tail armour.

Making a start on the sculpture today and over the weekend.

Gave some more thought to the back of the jacket as it was looking a little plain, much happier with it now. Also a little progress on the sculpt, made a start on the top and jacket.

oh, nice you're here too. i like you ref collection and concept, very clear help for medeling. did you already try some colors in your concept or are you sure about the final look, doing just some test later on?

Thank you and yes I did try and have a think about it, but I really couldn't settle on anything. I'm really not happy with the values so I need to think about it properly!

I'm probably just going to experiment when I get the base textures done. She uses primarily fire and lightning spells so thought maybe that could help me narrow it down

A bit more progress on my sculpt, still need to finish sculpting all the strapping, boots and create the book and book holster. But starting to get there.

I've also started preparing some of the low poly meshes to get ahead on the retopology.

Retop and bake took waaayyy longer than expected around work, but got the textures done this week. Been noodling around all day with colour palettes but decided just to pick one and commit.

Quick rig and pose tomorrow after work then I can get some renders.

Talk about last minute! haha! Definitely will continue after the deadline and spend a little more time on some areas!

Initial experimentations based on early ideas.

Final-ish colour palette after more thought.

Will post some more tomorrow!

There is still a lot I want to do to this project yet, and I will certainly be continuing with her after this. This is the first project I put into marmoset toolbag 3 and I'm in love! I want to try and get an idle animation in there although I'm no animator.
