Hello, I'm doing a Darkness champion who appears to be a normal human in the light, but is really an eldritch horror whose true form is "revealed" by darkness. It's going to be a really fun challenge to build a character around the scene lighting instead of having the lighting be an afterthought. The biggest inspirations for this piece are the song Morgenstern by Rammstein and way too much time playing Bloodborne.

Ive been working on the base, human body. It's nothing interesting so far though so ive been a bit hesitant to update. I decided the priestess look I was going for originally didn't really fit what I wanted. This creature has been disguising itself as a warrior of light, but really it's a creature of darkness. I'm using the outfit worn by Nidar Singh as my basis for the warrior of light outfit

I haven't been able to access this site for a while so I'm going to have a lot of big updates close together. I redesigned the head. I did a quick sketch, a proof of concept, and then a better version

Fairly large update, armor is mostly modeled, and as you can see she has chain mail now. I posed her before finishing the model to get a sense of which parts will be lit and which won't. I'm going back to the A pose now and modelling accordingly.

I originally wanted there to be more lights on her, but I opted to have only one large one so most of her body would be her true, "champion of darkness" form.

I'm really happy with how creepy the face is and how elegant the mask is. I also did an experiment with an optical illusion I want to make use of for this piece. Being a creature of darkness, and explicitly a deceiver, I wanted some aspect of optical illusion on her and I think I've found it. I got bored of the three swords thing and decided to have her throwing a black hole instead. I'm struggling to come up with a justification for it other than "what's darker than a black hole?" but screw it, it'll look awesome
