I have my base mesh blocked in. next step is doing some of the hard surface block in Maya

started UV'ing the hard surface, added some more details as I went. I also added a book that will be carried on his back, I wanted to add my interest to the back of the character

Started sculpting tonight.

Im not putting too much attention into the legs, since all of that will be covered with clothing

Ive tried to spend a little time on all of the body, so I can build it all gradually at the same level of detail...

Hands need more time but here is their current state

I was able to spend sometime blocking out more forms...

The wrapping on the legs took a lot longer to block than I originally thought, but in the end I like how they came out. They haven't been sculpted yet, so I know once that is done they will look even better

Im going to spend the weekend touching up things here and there and move on to marvelous next week

Its funny.... At work we always talk about how the characters with Huge shoulder pads, and how they'd me really limited in mobility because of how big and ornate they are. This is a perfect example, the horn goes through the characters cheek

yeah i can see how both of these characters can live in the same universe. I am trying to make my clothing in MD.

This is where I am at after about 5hrs, still need to do tons of tweaking, but its good to see him with clothes on now! lol

I was struggling a bit on trying to figure out how I was going to make the pants. But thankfully I have found a way to do so. This was a quick test to see if i could get the baggy, drappy look. Im going to take another stab at it tomorrow

going to make the pants wider, and make the sleeve a bit shorter length wise, and stretch a bit more in the negative Y

Im at a point with this that I am happy enough to move back into zbrush, once there i will fix and smooth out the problem areas

Brought in my geo from MD, I'm going to re export the long sleeve on the right and the from pieces that hang from the belt (not sure what does are called)

I reworked the long sleeve, and the belt in marvelous, started doing a bit more scultping

great progress so far!
one suggestion, i'd move the heel a little bit inside, so that he has straight ankles. otherwise he has a flatfoot.
