Boy the time has really started getting away from me! Time to really jump into this.

Here is my initial reference sheet. I'm pulling a lot of inspiration from the DarkStar LoL Splash pages that incorporate giant characters.

And Here is my batch of thumbnails. I think I'm going to go with the top left idea. I still need to add some type of subtle costuming and get the emblem in there.

I am open to any feedback that you may have!

I prefer the concept of the planet-sucker in the bottom-left, but I also like the vibrant colours in the top-left concept. Maybe try a combination of the two?

9 days later

I was having a hard time staying motivated on the giant girl so I decided to switch to this creature. Definitely going to give it a mountainous look for its back which hopefully won't be too hard without actual snow. Then again Space is super cold so maybe there would be lots of frozen areas? I'll see how it looks. I'm going to mess around with the "face" design some more. I don't think it needs eyes since it just travels through space like a comet until it approaches suitable planets to destroy.

I'm thinking IT will latch onto a planet and then release a lava like substance to burn away the surface layers of a planet. Then it will inject its sucker into the hole and absorb all of the heat energy and store that in its abdomen.

Making progress. Trying to add interest around the painting without losing the obvious focal point. I am still going to play with the creatures 'face' area design some more. I'm still open to any feedback ya'll might have.

keep painting, it's got an amazing colour scheme.

Thank you zookz.

Small Changes. I'm going to work on this a lot today. I figured I should share since I grabbed a new reference sheet for the monster.

This is looking really good man. Keep it up! Can't wait to see the final result

Guess it takes a fifth element to take on that guy
Very nice work! I especially like the purple light reflecting on his shell.

Well, apart from a black hole or a giant monster like his size, I don't see :joy:
Oh maybe I have it, a (huge) bug killer spray :scream:

Really nice zerg vibe! It looks awesome and the purple light does make it pop, just don't forget to incorporate the faction emblem somewhere in the design, as per the rules.

Thanks everybody. I'll post another update on this tonight. I took off the antenna and realized the angle of the swirly smoke/clouds were a little wrong based on the size of the planet. Oh yeah I also had to add in the emblem! I don't wanna be disqualified on that minor detail.

Progress from tonight.

Going to try and spend the next few days checking my quality references to clean this baby up for final.

Really nice touch with the fire element subtly incorporated to cosmic destroyer.
Best of luck for the finishes !

Down to the little changes...

Here's the final. I had a lot of fun working on it and learned a few things that I've never tried before! Good luck to everybody. I can't wait to see all the finals

The Cosmic Destroyer. This creature travels from solar system to solar system in search of planets that land in its goldilocks zone. Once it finds a suitable planet it opens up and latches onto said planet. Then proceeds to spew enough molten liquid from its throat to break open a hole beneath the planet's surface. From there it feeds on the life of the very planet itself. Once it has had its fill, and the planet becomes a cold space-rock, this monster abandons its meal in search for the next. It isn't evil per se, just apathetic to other life. Too big to care.
