Blane of the sea. A cursed fisherman that became a fish-person. He throws poisonous sea urchins and uses his tentacle arm to wield a harpoon. He wears a shell between a shark jaw as plating on one shoulder and he uses this to charge towards people using the many rows of teeth or to protect himself with the thick shell. His body is slowly turning into scales or octopus. What's left of his human flesh is rotting away.

Hello evryone, here is the idea i decided to go for. He was a sea urchin diver and became cursed. He now uses his harpoon as a rapier and throws poisonous sea urchins on people. Would love to get feedback to make changes before i pass on to painting. Thank you very much.

This sounds really fun! I suppose, something that strikes me is that. I can’t tell he was a diver, before the curse because all he’s wearing is trousers and a bandana . Also a question. do you hunt urchins with a harpoon? Got to admit I don’t know but I wouldn’t have guessed so.I think the concept is strong, tentacles are always a great visual I think, but, my preference would be to see more design involved besides the arm.

thank you very much for your feedback, i will soon post an update to the actual painting. I wanted the harpoon as a visual queue for fishing in general, i think the idea could be that he's just a fisherman and he dives and gets what he can, urchins are easy to get with his hands and big fish with the harpoon. i think you're right about me needing more things that suggest the actual diving. The diving i had in mind was more of snorkeling (when i went to get urchins they usually arent too deep and you can go without gear). But maybe i should add some elements.. Could you take a look at the painted thing and give me some feedback on that one, i would really appreciate it :).

Really nice colour choice for the character's background I think. Very spoopy. One thing I'd question though is the strength of the red on the tentacles. Given you've indicated the lighting in the scene is a strong green, not much red will be able to show through I think. I'd probably suggest you look up on colour theory and lighting rules to see for yourself. One other thing I noticed, I don't see the water emblem on him at the moment. Though maybe you're planning to put that on later!

Thank you very much for your feedback, i've actually looked into all of these issues already and i think i did a pretty good job fixing them  I'll soon post my final entry
