I love your design he is so funny, the small detail of the feet is a really good idea.
If I'd have to choose between your two thumbnails, the bottom one win by far for me. He look very happy to swing his big hammer on the poor little creature, it work amazingly well with his funny design. There's a lot of personality! And for the challenge you need to showcase as much as possibly of your character.

This is so cool! I love the light behind the skull, it could make for a really cool mood. I think the first comp is much more dynamic, but its a shame it doesn't show the massive scale of the character like the second one.

Your idea for a character is really good, I love the design. The gravestones hanging from his arms are the best part for me. The thumbnail on the bottom is also impressive, looking forward to see more.

i didn't have such time for start the illustration! but i've done another study with a more tragic and defensive mood and cleaned up the others! tell me what you think and what you prefere between this three!

Here i am dears with the first try of the illustration!
He is not finished and i want to refresh my eyes...but who says!
i can't wait to renderize the other thumbs to find the prefered one!

WEll this look really good !
I'm a bit sad you haven't keep the light in his "eyes" which made a form like this smiley that was a really fun part of you design for me, I was really looking like he was enjoying crushing this poor man. He is a bit less expressive right now.
I'd say you could use a bit more gesture in the way he is handling his hammer, The front part is very dynamic with this blur but the rest look a bit frozen in time.
Anyway it's a really strong painting and I love the rough painterly style !
