Hi! You've made tremedous progress since AW2! In term of design 2 and 4 match the most your description.

Greetings in the war !
Your sketches are amaing, realy clear.
I'd say 2/4/5 are the most coherent with your idea. I especially love the 2, it is really expressive and the wing like are a really good idea !

These are all crazy. Omg! Especially the one with no shirt, looking like Brody. But then I just noticed the woman behind the middle one and shooot!! Dis noice right heya

Finalizing design. Going back to the idea that the character's power is twisting his form and eating away his life/soul.

Enraged Swordman vs Brutal Bralwer

First design: Karma's is chained to his sword, it weighs him down. The sword itself is a living being and it's absorbing the character's life force. He's unable to fly despite having wings. The power torments him and drives him to madness.

Second design: Karma's power completely consumes him at this stage. He's expressionless and doesn't have a heart (hole in the chest). In a way, losing one's identity and mind is very tragic compares to being in physical pain.

I was really slow to finish this just because I want something concrete to work with. The final design would probably be one or a combination of these two. I will start thumb nailing the compositions for the next stage. Don't really have that much time left.

Compositions
1. Storming Heaven/Attacking
2. Pierce/Attacking
3. Sorrow/Defending

Working on all at the same time. I don't feel too great about the first comp, which is why I worked more on the other two. I will continue to render 2 and 3 and probably take them to the finish stage. Then I will choose which one is my favorite and submit

Amazing! I love the first one! We get to see the whole character in all it's glory, it's very dynamic and we can feel how strong he is!

I agree with rg ! The first one of the second take is really strong

I gotta say I love the first one too, but they are both great

At this stage, unless you're absolutely certain you can finish both to a high standard I'd focus just on one and put your all into it. It's not worth sacrificing time and quality when only one can be submitted anyway, but I do highly respect your determination and calibre! If you do really want to go with both and finish them, I'll be very impressed xD

I second what @nesokaiyoh said, if you can finish both in time that'll be so impressive! But maybe focus on one
Anyway it looks amazing!!! Keep up the awesome work!

I know i'm being pretty silly here trying to do both since I can only submit one in the end. But I just have all these ideas in mind that I want to execute. I'll try my hardest not to disappoint the amazing artists here and myself. Thank you guys for the advice

Honestly if you really want the challenge and are happy enough to go through with it, then you should totally go for it! It'll definitely push you but that's the whole point of the forum! Just be careful that there is little time left and that's really the only problem xD

Awesome progress on this!

I think the shirtless design you have going on the lower one works better for this character, doesn't seem the type to wear a suit or fancy dress coat of any kind lol either way it's coming along really nicely!

the story I had in mind for this dude is like a noble fallen from grace and he traded his soul for power. I wanted to give him something that's reminiscent of his past, like his fancy clothing. I think I just need to do a better job incorporating the torn clothing design into this piece

I extended the canvas since the composition feels a bit cramped

That was a brilliant idea it feels better, and the depth and scale is more readable and so more impressive! Great work!!

I decided to remove the fire bolts coming downward because there was too much visual cluster. Fix the island and separate he wings from the foreground more. Additional rendering and fixing is needed, but I'm pretty content at this stage. Best of luck for everyone!

I might also add more fire rain in the background to add something to the open space between his left wing

Sounds like a good idea! Great work and good luck for the final push!!

Amazing work!!! Congrats on finishing this!!

thank you, best of luck to you
