I'm going with team lightning to create Kelon, a young mage with power to control weather and atmospheric phenomena. In the illustration I'm going to depict him riding a storm elemental.
First sketch and ref board (lots of mtg art in it). I already had a clear idea of what composition and scene I wanted so I went straightforward with it without variants.
Next step: Designing Kelon's appeareance
