I have a bad colour profile on my monitor. Last year I switched from my old laptop (that had beautiful, perfectly calibrated colours) to a new PC and my old monitor which I bought for my laptop as a secondary screen. Never used it for colour as it was never correct, and it was a cheap thing which I just needed at the time. It's the only monitor I have now and artwork I produce on this monitor comes out far darker, and richer in colour than I ever intended. So before I upload anything I have to send it to myself to then colour check on my phone (I have a Samsung S9 so it also has stunningly correct colours) in order for it to be represented elsewhere the way i originally intended it.

Ahh thank you! Yes, I want to get his skin right. I'll probably have him a bit more desaturated and greyish in the final piece so he blends into the atmosphere and contrasts with the fire more

extremely dynamic pose, and I love the expression on the characters face <3 I struggle with rendering so I can't really say any critiques on the WIP so far other than I love it!

I know it's a WIP and is going to undergo many changes through the rendering process - My only nitpick is I'm curious to see how it would look with sharper lighting, with less lost edges. (Maybe make a separate layer for shading to really define the values to get the best read possible) The pose is super dramatic, so my gut is saying it wants the lighting to be too. Maybe more contrast is what I'm thinking of. (the image you posted prior to the rendering WIP looks the best in terms of contrast in lighting/color IMO

Can't wait to see more!!!

Ahh thank you! Yes I agree, the piece posted before the rendering WIP is what I'm currently working towards but I agree it needs more sharp lighting and contrast. Finding the balance between those edges when there's a lot of atmosphere, fire and smoke as well as him being in the literal clouds lol it'll take a lot of effort I think. I will definitely experiment with that, thank you!

I think when you add the molten sword in the middle it'll all come together, it's really beautiful and well composed so far! Hope this doesn't sound too cheesy but you're really inspiring me! Your entry is going to be awesome, I know it!

I've had my doubts for this piece, I always have my doubts for high expectations of myself but I'm really hoping I can blow it out of the water this time! Here's another update, though small. Been busy with more family matters and some dog training lately lol so not been working on it as much as I have done. (Plus random crashes, it's stressful) But here's a start on the drapery around Phaedrus! Drapery is one of my favourite things in the world to paint, so free and untamed - you can make nigh on any pattern and render it out, it'll still look like drapery.
