My champion is part of a kind created by magicians who tried to merge humans and fire elementals together. They were later dumped by their creators. Now technically free, they only met more hate and rejection from regular humans which
led them to grow a solid identity as a group and to set rules ensuring strong bonds between each individual of their kind. One of their particularity though is their underlying weakness, the fire in their body
threatening to burn themselves down at any moment : to oppose this issue, they use technology and machines to boost their capacities and stabilize their burning metabolism.
This member of the group (she's still missing a name) was chosen to be a warrior as she naturally presents great abilities to control her innate fire power ; her body armor is therefore loaded with weapons and battle modules to complement her skills.
Here's my first attempt at sketching/choosing the basic shapes of my character. Initially I was going for a more "traditional" futuristic/cyborg look.
Upon research and tests i came up with her backstory and decided that she needed to express her background and roots in her design.
I borrowed ideas from quite a broad selection of works of the past decades and i decided that parts of her design would be inspired by patterns found in the culture of Ainu people, natives of Hokkaido, Japan :
Top right concept/silhouette in the 2nd image is looking good to me.

This time ive managed to pick one i feel confident about
daily update, with some armor/exoskeleton test this time.
I wasn't too fond of the 3 from the top row so I picked the 3 other and did some mix & match with the shapes and plates. Next image is what resulted
Third one from the left is my final pick ; im going to detail it, do some research for the materials and then (hopefully) start the final composition in a day or two.
late night post, but while doing the armor i felt like sketching the character under it. As explained in a previous post regarding her backstory, people of her group often struggle to maintain the fire produced inside their bodies (especially at a young age), hence the burned marks on her limbs. On her knuckles are the cavities able to expell the heat that will be used to fuel her weapon
