Huge improvement! You're doing great. Keep it up. :+1:

So sorry for the late reply I've been busy lately, AO is ambient occlusion and is the very darkest area of an object or being where light does not reach. This image is a pretty good example in a game based setting, it makes places darker where light is having a harder time reaching. After all, light travels only a straight line, it can't wrap around objects and illuminate everything.

It can some times be very subtle depending on the lighting situation, how many light sources and what types and intensities the lighting is. In this situation with fire, it will illuminate a lot of her but places like between her skin and her skirt, armpits and below the jaw and neck will have the biggest sources

@Oceane_Roh @rgdraw @glubglubz @mr_dessin Thank you all so much!

@nesokaiyoh No worries, I totally understand how it is. I reaaaally appreciate you taking the time to explain that though, so incredibly helpful. Thank you!

I'm still plugging away. Trying to get it knocked out this week because I've started having stress dreams about finishing the painting vs staying on top of reading for my anatomy class haha.

I don't think you have much to worry about, there's still nigh on a fortnight left and you're done with most of the painting! And it looks fantastic too, you could even have a couple days off more and then come back and you'll be fine :smiley:

@nesokaiyoh I have no chill lol. Feeling better after getting more of this tackled today.

Still some little stuff to do but manageable.

Really love how you did the fire and reflections :heart_eyes: (especially the details on the head/hair)
I understand the "no chill" part :pensive:

Best of luck for the finishes of Uto-Lady !

Lol I also get the no chill, but I completely understand where you're coming from. It is better to have it done early and not have to worry about deadlines later on, I'm trying also to get mine finished as fast as possible.

Love her eyes btw, very striking

Until further notice, this will be my final :smile:

I totally forgot to reply to y'all omg xD

@mr_dessin thanks! I had a few moments where I've questioned why I wanted to paint so much fire lol.

@nesokaiyoh Thanks! It took me a bit to get her eyes/face in general where I wanted it. And yeah, could use one less thing on my list.

@dreamsequenz Thanks!

@rgdraw Thank you as well! :smile:

Wow, this lighting is great. Love the reflected and scattered light on her green skin. Very creative.

Amazing job, it's been wonderful seeing your progress over the past month!

Thanks guys! Just gonna be working on troubleshooting cause for whatever reason my entry isn't submitting to the contest.

Hi Sierra! Bad news and good news! You were the only contestant with the wrong topic ID and it's prevented you from submitting - the good news it we manually fixed that and you should now be able to submit whenever you want.

Sorry for the confusion, it's totally our bad!

Good luck!

Ohhh!! That explains it then. Thank you!
