Egyptian inspired elemental.
So I had been practicing from reference the other day - https://www.pinterest.com/pin/392657661264211286/
As I was working on it, I realized there was an artwar going on here. So I started to come up with ideas. This illustration was meant to be practice but now its a back story to the elemental I will be working on.
This is a crocodile water elemental- inspired by sobek, the egyptian god of the nile. I have some more sketches I am working on, but after these I ended up painting this little guy for fun.
Thanks for looking. Hopefully I will finish with a higher end of polish than these.
Okay so here is a small update. Trying to make the water stand out.
After some research, I found this nice video on the properties of water adhesion.
Its a pain to try to figure out all the reflections. I will probably make a mood board later for the final. I have more sketches I still need to prepare for presentation. Thanks for looking!
Okay. So here are quick concepts for the final design of Sobek. I tried to focus more on the (water) aspects.
These first 2 pieces were explorations of how he would spawn. Coming out of the water and taking shape.
These 3 are my final concepts for the design aspect. I think I am going with number 2. But I really like the movement of 3.
Okay! So 2 more days. We can do this guys!
