While Merfolk oft avoid combat, Hydrozoans are exceptional marine combatants and, elementalists, when drawn out to land. Knowledge obtained in the darkest depths grant them an understanding of water in all of its forms.

Hi all!! I'm an aspiring character artist looking to get better and make some friends (and maybe some awesome art rivals) along the way. I've often been intimidated by these competitions but I am learning that this is the only way that I can improve, so into the waters I go!!

I initially wasn't sure if I would join the contest so the work began on my twitch channel where I spoke about the competition. From there I grabbed some bits from an old model (think basemesh quality) and began sculpting away. A link to that VoD is below.

At present, I am still exploring many ideas but have made a vague concept of what I aspire to create.

And this is my current progress on the piece!!

So much more to do and explore. Hoping to make it to the end!! Cheers to all contestants and viewers 💜💜💜

Woo progress!!

Here's an update after tonight's stream. Still exploring, though I feel like I'm zoning in on the concept more. Much refinement to be done. Looking forward to figuring out texture and a pose that shows off some of her elemental abilities.

Hoping to get a larger chunk done over the weekend on and off stream.

Whew, slowly making more progress on Cyanae. Between battling a cold and having to swap network providers to continue sharing the progress - things have been slow. Still tons more to do, hopefully we'll make it to the end!!

Here's the most recent sketch. Still need to work on a number of things, as well as broadcast her ability. More and more I'm content with the piece and am super excited to push forward 😊

Another stream, another update!! we've started polypainting. Still working through the concept but I'm happy with how she's coming along.

We've also developed some weapons for her to show off her ability!!

I'm both excited and terrified for the next steps!! But this has been an amazing competition so far. Having tons of fun exploring the concept.
