When i first started messing around with CG Everyone was talking about baking maps in Substance and XNormals and making the argument that zbrush doesnt bake maps as well as these however my experience over the last year is that zbrush bakes awesome maps 8K 16 bit TIFF's that look fantastic.
I am still trying to figure this technical stuff out and wish it just all happened in the background still but typically I run a "BATCH" sequence in photoshop that converts all my maps. to sizes, formats, contrast, levels, etc. to my needs.
Who ever new that photoshop was a killer 3D prep software;) LOL
And if anyone likes high def textures and reusing uv's you have to buy ZWRAP!!!
its has changed the entire way I do everything. Still work to do but the results are AMAZING!!!!
ZWRAP, check it out!
