I made some sketches over Christmas to find out what I wanted to do with the shipwreck.
In the end I had the idea of a fallen king.

Now i have that: The Nameless Wreck King.
The idea is that he has parts of shipwracks through his body. Shells and corals grow on these wooden parts, which could look like armor.
I want it to be dark fantasy like.
I will now work on this idea

Started thinking more about the shapes of my King.
I'm not shure what he accutally is, if he has more like a zomby like skin or if he is more watery like an elemental. He could be like a waterelementel with a lot of suff from shipwracks floting inside him. Anyway he will get seeweed and sfuff on him.

Its the first time I do something like this, be nice to me but feels free to judge me frendly

Oh you going to get it now !

Nice idea, you got here alright,

Shells and corals grow on these wooden parts

I like this idea! :stuck_out_tongue:

Hope that was friendly enough for you, welcome to war. (did that translate, i tried to sound mad but being encouraging at the same time.)

Your character is pretty cool, I can't wait to see it in 3d with the textures.

(I just turned 23 and this is also my first time in this contest.)

This is my current state, I want to finish all the big parts this weekend.

I've been modeling all the armor parts in blender, to get a nice hard surface base.
I tried a lot with the Modeling Cloth Addon in Blender to get the basic shapes of the falling cloth.

Hi again,
Just wanted to know if you are going to go for realism or stylized anatomy / parts. ?

If i could add some thoughts to this design, maybe if you took ship parts like the main center pole, mast? i think its called the one that holds the biggest sails and made that then broke it and then stuck parts on him that would work very well here.

^With this in mind i can see the front and back of a nice looking boat at his shoulder locations and if you added a nice statue or sculptured head piece defining that very ship this would turn out super nice.

Hope that helps it might be a lot but it will be worth it as a completed piece if you took the time to study boats like that of the black pearl - and some other boats with designs at the front (idk the name of that exactly)
Same for the sea debris growths

Blue words are links to sources i mentioned, good luck i can see big things here.

Hey @3dc
First of all thanks for your feedback.
I'm not quite shure yet what style I want to go for... Both could be nice and I dont have a defined style yet. I might just try me on a more realisic style.

I like this idear... There could still be a part of the sail hanging on it. I could replace one of the big part in his chest for that.
Yes, I thought about that too. Could be nice if the shoulder part would look more like the front of a ship. The thing with a sature would be really nice... uff, that's a lot of work xD
I will tanke a look at the black pearl, that's a beautiful ship!

Thanks c:

Here's another update.
I'm still trying a lot of things, tweek here and there and making changes.
I also tried the idear with the broken mast, but i didn't like it yet. But I want to change it a bit and play with it.
The corals are super new too so don't wonder if they do look a bit missplaced.
