After choosing the Native American idea, i gathered further references to help me develop the design even more, i knew from the start that i wanted a heavy MetalGearSolid influence designing the soldiers so i dove deep into every artbooks and concept i could find.

Some weapon sketches:
RFA-mk2 "comet"
initially i had in mind to transpose the idea of a calumet into a sort of fumespitter wich emitted sleep inducing smoke, and give it to him as a main weapon, but then i decided to break down the elements and shapes of the U.S. Flag and ended up creating laser rifles, railguns and come closer to the idea of having something that shoot stars (from the flag symbolism)
along all the gun you will see the red/white stripe pattern chewed and mixed, while the hand and gauntlet part will be the blue/white star dotted part.
I hope you like them, tell me your favourites if you step by!

After some thinking, i wasn't fully satisfied with the illustration comps, there were too much elements from the other frames wich i was unhappy to exclude, so in the end i mashed all the important bits into this final thumbnail hopefully finding a nice balance to tie all of them together, hope you like it!

So much choice! I like G and H for the face with F, H and T for the head dress. I think showing the characters face with the mask on would work well for a champion, like F and V where you can see through the visor.

Testing Face variants on the first Design, went for a more nocturnal tactical combat suit for this heavyweight, i'm thinking of giving him a calm storytelling background, an inventor who seeks peace in the tranquility of his farm where he can watch the crop while developing his inventions. He likes Nascar too so maybe he'll try experimenting also on new engines, fuels or perhaps car armor, who knows...

This is really impressive, this fella feels like he lift everything around his farm by hand, no need for a crane or a tractor with him around!

Iterations of the second design, this time exploring more the backpack part of one of the weapons in his kit: the "totem turret" wich he deploys to estabilish a defence line on the ground against oppressors.

And this are small iterations of my third variant, this time trying also different colour schemes configurations mantaining the flag's palette. For this project i went a bit heavier on iterations rather than thumbnails to test different solutions, the bulk of the silhouettes was done on paper and while sleeping as i was hunting primarly for the idea rather than the visuals, hope you like them cheers!

Updates! some advancements in the render, plus i spent an afternoon building the animation for the drone and turret activation, since i've already got thumbnails and iterations on paper i figured out doing a 3d mockup was the fastest way to check the functioning while implementing the shape design to a more defined stage, hope you like them!
