That's awesome! The illustration is coming along great and the character is very interesting and cool. Keep it up!
Thanks guys
@cedricgo Thank you, glad to hear that!
@prinzmoana Thanks for the kind words! I'm gonna try to explain briefly -
He's so cool! 10/10 would go and scare evil spirits with him! The fur looks really nice and fluffy as well! Can't wait for the final!
Thx for your detailed explanation, itโs pretty enlightening to hear about foreign traditions I think you've nailed the idea of the Kuker very well.
Nearing the finish line finally! Mostly the evil spirits left and maybe some adjustments like the size of the character, just in case he starts feeling too small in the canvas. Any opinions? Critiques and advice are welcome! Not sure I'll have time for any serious corrections but still.
It's pretty difficult for me to judge the image objectively as I've been looking at it for too long now, so maybe I'll dislike it in a couple of days, but regardless I feel pretty good about what I've been able to make in the short amount of time I had left. Now to finish the character sheet and the rest of the illustration in time Also it might seem silly that I have basically finished the illustration before the character, but for this design specifically I would have been difficult to figure out how things like the arrangement of the bells and stuff like that would look in motion, so I decided to just figure out the rest of the design during the process of making the illustration.
A couple of minutes after the last post, I'm already seeing tangents and other stuff :x
@sparksofdawn Haha yea. Ty, fur can be both very simple and yet challenging. How's your entry going by the way?
@prinzmoana I'm hoping the idea comes trough for people who haven't read the explanation, otherwise it probably just looks like some random magical creature Ah well! Anyways thanks again, I appreciate it.
Adjusted the atmosphere a bit more by making the character overall warmer and the background slightly cooler, reworked the mountains in the background and made the character a tad bigger. The image still needs some work, but this is probably my last post of the illustration before I submit my final as to not spam the same image tons of times. I'm gonna try to squeeze in a progress image of the character sheet and after that post the final submission. Really cutting it close.Wooh working on this painting and coming up with the character has been a real journey, really learned a ton.
Looks epic dude!
Thank you!
The illustration is done and I'm glad how it ended up looking. Will post that when I'm finalizing my entry, just need to finish the character sheet. Here's a progress shot. Decided to just redo the concept instead of continuing work on the original drawing and having to fix it. This isn't going to be in the same style as in the illustration, I hope that's not a problem, but right now I'm having wrist pain and I don't want to overdo it with repetitive motions.
I definitely need to thin down the legs a bit.
Some progress. Aaalmost there.
awesome work! i love the general character shape and stature. also i love the bells
Just a reminder - the concept sheet needs to be exactly 2048x2048. I suspect you know and these are just wips, but still :d
@toby.ramrath Thank you, glad you like it @sparksofdawn Yea I know, but thanks still!
After hundreds of layers and many color corrections I'm finally calling my entry done. Learned a lot working on this and had a lot of fun. Best of luck to all the participants. For anyone interested there's a brief explanation of the character in my earlier replies.

I like so much your art! The shadow on the first plane and the light effects just amazing! I thought about shadows also, but my skills wasn't enough for such things))
Thank you very much! Great job on your entry too, best of luck!
