Hi everyone!
This is the first time I participate to the Artwar challenge, I am very happy that we can all share here our creativity and absorb such good vibes from each other.
I wish you all an happy art journey!

I will do my best to represent France in this war.
my character is Marianne, she is in the military and have already shown her skills in battle.
I have been thinking a lot about what kind of character she would be.
Initially I wanted her to be a Gargoyle pilot. And that is mainly what I was sketching about this past week.
But the concept started to feel a bit dull and a little boring. References were all the same and I couldn't put my finger on something that moves me ....

I came to realise that I named my character the Wild rooster and I was working on a robot/gargoyle.

So I went back to do more researches, working on a backstory for this lady and what I really wanted to communicate.

The concepts I am aiming now are fast and sharp.
Through the design of the gargoyles I kind of felt more joy drawing a light weight gargoyle than the heavy beast.
So this time I'll keep it LIGHT.

For the next week I want to show you my new researches about that.
I am not forgetting the gargoyles, I believe there are a part of the process even so the concept is changing a little. I might eventually do a mix.

I joined this post with my sketches of this 1st round of thoughts and my latest reference board the the next batch of researches.
Hopefully I can also explore some of the character traits and push even more on the french symbols.

Let me know what you think!

Should be interesting. I see lots of nice elements that you could use in your reference board

Hello!
I spent the last week working around the body shapes and proportions of my character.
I liked the idea of mechanic legs,
Since my character has a long history of battles, I thought it might be great if she actually didn't have legs anymore and instead she could install some mechanics that help her to fight.
I believe that being a warrior is also a mindset and the champion representing my country should have this quality. So here she is, by overcoming her handicap and accepting it she became the face of France. My little wild rooster ahahah

I am currently working on the different hairstyles and clothes based on the silhouettes you can see in the image.
Let me know if you have any preferences!

Thank you!

thank you very much!
I hope it will end up being a nice character eheh.
it's hard to narrow the possibilities but so fun to do!

For me C is incredible good to read ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ also she looks like a real badass with the helmet and ponytail. ๐Ÿคฉ

And I'm also curious about G๐Ÿค”

Some great shapes here! I would say G is the way to go. Very good contrast between the thick waist area and the thin upper body. Also love the clear cut hairline. Overall very clear and appealing silhouette ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Thank you very much for your feedbacks!!
these past weeks I worked on the final looks.
I reduced my researches on the silhouettes C and G, since they are the most interesting
It's amazing to see that everyone went for these 2. No way I would ignore it.
Finally I went further with C.
G was looking too fantasy and too far from my original concept.

So, A month as passed and I need to start my composition researches for the illustration.
I am a little late so I'm gonna quickly work on the weapon at the same time ahahah

While waiting for the next post, here are my girls.
I have a preference for number 1 but 2 and 3 have also some interesting features
I wish I could do more researches .

Thank you again for your feedbacks, this is priceless!

Have a good day!

Hi guys!
Since I had a hard time picking of version, I decided to put aside the character a little.
I thought that, by working on the composition and the gesture, it would make the decision easier.
Here are the thumbnails I've been working on.
Lately I am a bit busy and the deadline is getting close, I hope I will be able to finish this challenge.
Thumbnails are not my strengh and I'm very slow ahahah.
For the moment I like the thumbnails C,E,F and J (with more effect).

If you have any advice, it would be greatly appreciated!

Have a great day!

I like C and E because there is a certain flow and dynamic, but I also like H because it's looking just epic with the explosion and feathers... Maybe she can also fight with feathers? Could look very organic and interesting ^^
Keep it up! ๐Ÿ˜„

C,E and H. Noted, thank you very much!
The C is actually inspired by the jump that roosters do when they fight ahahah

The use of feathers is a great idea! it's funny because I was thinking about the feathers as flying elements aroung the character as she is fighting.
But using feathers as a side weapon, I love that idea !

Nice concept ! I look forward to see the final image ๐Ÿ˜

Hi!
I wanted to finalize my character this week end eheh
Turns out, I was still not very convinced by the designs, so I decided to push a little further to see what comes out.
I picked my final design of the clothes but changed a little the head and hat.

Have a good week end everyone !
