Hi everybody, my name is Rafael but most of my friends knows me as Jocrek, I'm going to represent my country Honduras, I want to design something inspired by the legend of "el cadejo" but with a sci-fi spin to it, lately I've been inspired by the cyberpunk aesthetic so hopefully I can make something descent looking. This are the images I use to give me some ideas that makes the base of this project.
After various days trying to come with an idea for the main body this is the one I liked the most, so I add some base colors, the sketches on the back were my initial ideas but I didn't liked the "power rangers/super sentai" vibe they gave me, so I tried to change it a little, now I think I can keep working on the design.
There is a long road ahead of me but hopefully I can make it better.

In the end I stick with the design and gave it some kind of "wanderer" vibe to it with the cloak on top of it. At the beginning I said I wanted to based it on the myth of "el cadejo" which is a story I've been hearing about since I was a child.
The myth says there are two dogs, a black one and a white one, and according to the version I know of, both dogs help people get back to their homes at night in different ways. The black one scares and chase drunk people to make them go back to their homes safely while the white one guides them safely back and protects them from other evils and that's what gave me the idea of two different modes for the dogs in the picture, both being holograms controlled by an AI and each one attached to a different arm.
Here I'm working on the final piece for the contest.
As for the story on the character my idea is about him being the last member of a cybernetic security team, betrayed by one of their own each teammate inside the group where killed during their last mission trying to prevent an unidentified group from stealing some prototype weapons. Kadedak was shot 5 times in the chest and his body was thrown away in a forest to let him die with the rest of his team. Some people from a nearby town heard the commotion and found him dying on the floor, they nurse him and help him fix both arms bringing back his dogs companions, the halberd was made with pieces of his damaged armor.
Still trying to make all the details but I guess it could be for the next update... Hope you like the progress so far!

Ok so, this is how my character looks with the colors on, at this point I hadn't done the background but I will upload it in a bit... Just wanted to show this part of the progress with you guys.
Being honest, my backgrounds skills aren't the greatest but still learning so hopefully I can improve them in the near future, wish I could do more than this but I can't right now, my skills aren't the best for this and college isn't giving me much free time.
And this is how it looks in the end, for better of for worse this is my top level right now, still need to improve a lot but that's the beauty of drawing, you become better and better with each practice and each smart choice you make. Gotta say it was a lot of fun making this and I learned a lot by watching a great portion of your artworks!
