I have an idea to paint in a very beautiful castle from Latvia in the background, or a inspiration of it. It has some amazing gardens around it. It's called Rundale castle. Anyhow I did some thumbnails mainly to figure out how to contrast objects around her.
Dark on light or light on dark.

I don't know if its on purpose, but for me the head of the girl in the middle seems a bit too big in comparison to her body🤔 Maybe I'm wrong xD Just wanted to mention my thoughts.

The general thought would be that the minions represent her as mother of forest, sea etc (mentioned in character description) and the creatures wouldn't really be humanish. I will decide it on a later stage to include them or not. But right now my biggest focus is on the main character and after that the background.

An update on the character painting, I have different idea for the background, so I'm posting it without one. Gonna make this artwork a priority now, so I'm not pressured by the time. Will post an update with the background soon.

Can someone clarify if a concept sheet is required this year or no? I don't see it on the main brief but I see a lot of people posting theirs.
