Now that I see it here, I should probably tone down the blur to the edges, maybe too extreme I do not know. I have it all in layers so it will be a quick adjustment later!

Ah, kinda forgetting to post progress pics! Here´s latest update. I still need to work on fg elements, such as the front of the bubble and maybe move some panels around to give more depth to the shot, showing the back leg. Bullets on the back may give a good excuse for a warm rim light! Will try some stuff today with that.
Still gotta do the warpaint too, and weathering. Right now it looks like an action figurine right out of the box alongside his buddy Max Steel or smth. Old reference? If you got it, I hate to break it down to you...

cool design! Anatomically I feel that either is arms should be a bit longer or his legs a bit shorter hehe, other than that this is looking sweet

I love the effects and the motion blur, very nice!
I would push the specular on the metal parts, especially on the torso where the light is the strongest, a wider range of values would give a nice kick.
I'm a big fan oof the ghost feathers

Well, here´s my final entry for the contest. I find it a good step up from my previous illustration skills, never painted any character-centric illustration that I liked before, but this one I can accept. Learned a lot from this and it´s nice to again have deadlines just like in school.
Nicest thing about this is that it pushed me to be more involved in the community. I´ve never been much of that but I managed to talk to some very nice people here. Thanks to everyone involved!

It seems I can´t message any mod about this, so I will try to ask here! I was wondering if any of you could give me any feedback or tell me if I broke any rules, I´d like to improve in case I am was not competent enough or in case I broke any rules I´d like to know so next time I am more careful. @cedricgo

I looked in the rules and I don't think you missed any point.
You've got the concept sheet and illustration; format is correct.
character is attacking or defending and we see 80% mini. of the body.
Definitely has country's specifics.
No political/religious signs.
About your image, I believe there is no bad major elements.
The background is a bit confusing with everything that is going on. characters perspective and the buildings don't seem the same for exemple.
I would try again this illustration with a complete different background that constrasts more with the character. Since your country is Mexico, I would give a try with some plants and jungle.
But honestly, this is a great image.
I can feel the amount of work and effort you put in this illustration.

If there were no breaks in the rules and you did great.
Remember that the selection of the judges is also based on their personal tastes.
And sometimes a good work is not picked.
We were more than 320 participants these year, I bet it wasn't easy to choose only 30.

I hope you will get feedbacks about your work and confirmation that you didn't break any rules.

Well at first glance I don't see anything wrong with your entry. The character looks cool and the illustration is nice. And I think you've respected the paramaters that were required.

But as mentionned by @MarineBoudry, there's a lot of entries to pick from, but only so many can be chosen as finalists. Now, mods aren't part of the judging process so I can't tell you exactly why an entry was chosen or not chosen as a finalist. But the fact that an entry doesn't make it to that stage doesn't mean that it is bad. But choices have to be made and there are good entries that will unfortunately not be selected.
