The character has to be real-time or we can make cinematic style with rendering in Arnold/Vray ?
Greetings
Hi there, I'm entering for 2D illustration and was wondering if I could use Photoshop brushes that are not the defaults? I collected a variety of brushes throughout the years and use them for my illustrations, so is it okay if I use them? It is not a photo, it's a brush.
Sure. Go ahead : )
What ? Quebec can't participate ? Why that ?! In the list it's say ''Canada'' it didn't say ''Canada except Quebec'' no?
Nevermind, it's write. WHYYYYY cry
Lucky thing read the FAQ first, cause of unexpected country restrictions which feel a little bit unfortunate for me. I hope, I can join this next time. I'm from Indonesia by the way...
Hope you can next time! : )
Good day peopleSo I'm joining the 3d categoryCan I use textures from websites like textures.com or poliigon?
Please read the FAQ. It's there.
@marc If I have a relative in the eligible location, how does that work? Do I have to like put their address in my profile or is this thing just checked after the contest? Just making sure...
@deivcalviz you will be asked for their address and info if you will win the contest (regarding where to send the prizes etc). No need for it until then.
Whew, that's a relief! Thanks for the clarification! Just want to make good art and get the technical stuff out of the way.
So if I'm entering into the 3D portion of the contest, and my character has some sort of special effect, like she's holding a fireball, or there's some sort of glow effect that I want, but my 3D program doesn't create those effects very well, am I allowed to create those effects in Photoshop?
I'm actually just curious about the 2D submission requirements. The final design states that the size needs to be at least 2048px by 2048px, but the concept or design sheet just says 2048px by 2048 px. Is this restricted to this size only, or can it be larger or smaller?
Is the US territory, Virgin Islands, exempt from this contest?
I think the rules are pretty clear You can find similar questions and answers in the 2D Art War topic.
Hello! Who will own the rights to the winning works? Thanks.
I just heard about this contest today and I'm hoping to get an entry in. I have a digital painting I did a few years ago that I want to use as a basis for a 3D sci-fi entry, though the end product will be greatly expanded from this http://i.imgur.com/Cbe8N03.jpg
Is it fine to work from an old original concept? And is this too much in the realm of "fantasy"?
Thanks in advance!
Hello, I have a question,Is it ok if my 3D entry contains a full 3d character (fully textured, with materials, etc.) while everything else(clouds, rocks, background, etc. just not the character) is 2D?
yes you can do that.
hehe, sorry for asking too many questionsone question:Can the detail sheet be a clay render or a texture - less render (except displacement texture)? Or does it have to have textured shaders?
