ART WAR I 2D I Luke Barrett- post apocalyptic bounty hunter

Hi all first post here! My character is a redeemed anti hero, here is his story.
In the year 2063 a hack on several world military powers defence systems a global terrorist group launch nuclear weapons and send the earth into a wasteland. Luke Barrett is a bounty hunter who has been surviving in the wasteland outside of Los Angeles by bringing in bounties of rival gangs and cartels to whoever pays the most. After rescuing his latest bounty, a woman named Maria from a group of cannibalistic mutants she informs him of a utopian city in Virginia named Canaan where civilisation has been restored. Luke doesn't turn her in and instead they find themselves on a cross country road trip to Canaan and along the way find more followers eager to escape the dangers of the wasteland. But their journey is not an easy one as they come across deadly gangs, cults, mutants and a ruthless bounty hunter named Mozart eager to collect the bounty on Maria.

I've started with some thumbnail sketches to get me started.

narrowing down thumbnails, will develop the helmet separately on another sheet. Going to add post apocalyptic wear and tear in the final concept sheet this is just to get the costume feel first.

Decided to go without a helmet instead may add sunglasses instead, I like to start the detailing with the face. gave him a rough look with scars and tattoos.

Thanks! yeah I'm playing with the idea of some futuristic shades or visor, its hard because I love drawing faces so I almost don't want to obstruct his face when it comes down to the composition!

Further refining the design and adding details, going to make the look more worn and apocalyptic.

Moving onto the rendering stage now and added shades that I may or may not use in the final illustration as I really like painting eyes.

Moved onto the illustration stage heres the first image I worked on today, face is bugging me I'll keep making changes until I'm happy with it.
