I don't think image size was a reason though.. there are winners that had incorrect sizes. The second from the top for example. Anyway, it's all up to the judges' tastes.. still thankful for this contest.

it had to be the size..cos they cut THORN IRON FIST ENTRY ON 3d because of its SIZE even thought IT SHOULD BE ON THE TOP LIST. But if there was an entry that made it to top 30 with INCORRECT SIZE, THEN thats questionable,???, everybody would be confused if thats the case..

@mylee Just for your peace of mind - I don't think the Thror iron fist was disqualified because of the size, but because the artist had decided to not do the concept sheet, which is one third of the entry. An entry with only two thirds submitted is automatically disqualified.
Let's not start spreading false suspicions

Omg so happy to see my entry in the 30! being among such awesome and talented artist is an honor and huge motivation boost! Hi all,
I just want to post this words cause I don't understand some decisions of the Round 1.
I consider my entry enough good to be consider before some of the finalists but I just want to know if I was discarded for some technical reason .
In addition I just want to remember the main topic " Epic Warrior ever seen" ,with all the sense that it entails.I've seen also some entry breaking the required rule of the character should be represented full body ,at least 80% in the final image.

I don't want to link any entry ,we all know what we are talking about...

But I noticed that there is a 3D submission up there without a concept sheet?

Also many of the concept sheets were sculpt paint-overs? But the rules asked for drawings?
For some it seemed mostly an afterthought, a few scribbles on a WIP sculpt?
And another one is an ink shaded zbrush render of the finished sculpt?

I understand that many 3d artists work directly from sculpt, but I don't understand why some really good entries were disqualified for having incorrect concept sheets, but entries without them were accepted as winners?

I trust the decisions of the moderators, but if you don't agree with some entry qualifing you need to point where is the flaw. Be specific.

Otherwise, they can't do anything.

A bad concept sheet is very different than an incorrect one. Incorrect = disqualification while a bad one simply won't win you many points in the next rounds.

All the finalists above had the required elements somewhere in their topic and the average of those was what was used to judge them.

Submitting everything required was the price of entry.

I meant these two entry's specifically, (only since you asked)

This one doesn't have a concept sheet.

But it made the final 30.

This one

has a zbrush render of the finished model for the concept art.
I thought that wasn't allowed?

It would be interesting to see feedback for each individual submission picked in the 30 finalists. Just to know where everyone else fell short.
