Hi!

I desided to fall to the dark side and am designing a demon sorcerer character to fight for me in this epic fight between light and darkness.

I have not picked a name for my character yet, but have some ideas about his backstory. He is a youngish but renown sorcerer who in his youthful arrogance and ambition summons a demon to merge with to to become even more powerful. The demon is stronger than he tought and half possesses him which fully engulfs him to the darkness and all that was good about him is lost. He's still mostly in control of his body and toughts but everything is now about the pursuit of evil. Through the possession the demon has partly emerged physically to change his appearance and given him the powers of the underworld.

In the sketch below I've drawn armor on his right hand but have now come think that his right hand might have transformed totally to that of the demon he summoned and have scales which would make the armour redundant. He carries a bastard sword and is adept with black magic.

I'm aiming to show the demon side of him more (almost none of it is apparent in this sketch) but need to do some thumbnailing first to get the proportions right.

Welcome to the war. You're off to a good start. I like the belt and the way the armor connects on the upper chest.

Here are some pencil sketches of how I think the character's appearance might develop. The scales on the hand and arm might be a challenge, but I think they bring more personality to his appearance. The horns are protruding of the human side of the face a little, right side of the face is almost fully demon-like although I think the horn is not full-size.

Here's a color scheme I'm thinking for the demon parts of the sorcerer.

Here's a concept of the sorcerer's head. I'd like the transisiton from demon side to human side to be more subtle so need to work on that still. Comments and suggestions are much appreciated.

Trying to make a decision regarding the pose. Here are some thumbnails.

Then worked more on the left bottom corner pose. I tought that in this pose he's summoning allies from the underworld.

Good job defining the outfit with your line drawing. It's looking cool. Having the Character's left hand facing and reaching toward the viewer would feel a bit more dynamic to me.
