Hey Alex, I like the flower design.
She has a homogeneous design, everything is important, there is no focal point I can look at first. You could fix it really fast with big-small-contrast. Maybe make her haircut much bigger or the shoulder piece, even a wide skirt looks great. Look at this beautiful flowers you have as a reference and stay inspired ^^

Also for me she is looking so sad, kinda too sad for a beautiful flower ^^ haha I hope my feedback can help you in some way. Keep doing!

Agreed with @frankenstejin ...why so sad face ?
What I like is the new tint of colour skin.

And yeah a bigger haircut would be very nice on her !
If I were you (but I'm certainly not) I will cut that edge/nose (even maybe the crown entirely). Just play around and try different design/shapes maybe ?

Thank you both for the feedback. The idea of big-small contrast should really help the design. I will experiment with making her hair bigger then try her skirt. I can try tweaking the pallet in the full drawing to help with additionally with the contrast. As, for the face I was making more of just a neutral position but she did turn out sad. (Don't really know, could've been the music I was listening to?) Regardless I will take your feedback into consideration for my next
update. Thank you again for your input!

No art update. I'm out of town so I cannot work on my design until the 30th, but I'm taking notes.
Anyway I just wanted to wish everyone happy holidays!
Everyone is so supportive to each other here and I am enjoying my experience with this community so far.

No problem man enjoy your holidays !
And yes this community is great
Really missed it....

I wish you guys happy holidays too ^^ I'm also cannot do some progress till tomorrow, so I use this paintless time to check other threads and refresh my references on pinterest.

just some things! even for a plant creature it might be nice to see more realistic anatomy features, it may have the shape of the arms and the chest! And try to break the symmetry!

Finally, back from vacation so now I can actually work on my design. Anyway, Thank you all for your feedback! I will post later today when I make the needed changes.
I'll work on her big-small contrast, tweak the colors until they are pleasant and then ill ask for feedback once more until which I will begin the final turn around.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!
@frankenstejin Your advice about big -small contrast helped a considerable amount. I went with the flower on her head to be larger originally but i preferred the more mage like approach of the bigger dress.
@mr_dessin I took your advice to consideration and I made her face more proportional to that of a human and softened the nose considerably. However, I may change the crown but I have not found a good enough way to do so. She is also not really sad anymore she just has her face in a neutral position.
@racnos thanks for the feedback. I will try to add some more asymmetry down but so far I have been unable to add any quite just yet.
Thanks again for the advice her lower half is not all that detailed so far as I mentioned earlier is still need to implement a few more design changes and do not wish to spend most of my time on a rough draft that may not be in the final paper. Anyway, any feedback is most appreciated and thanks again to everyone for being so helpful and supportive.

Nice work on this one:) I love the strong colors and insectoid anatomy!

here are two different ideas for the lay out. I will be experimenting more with the angles and background but let me know what you think and provide any feedback you think would be helpful.

1: I really like the idea of a cathedral made of nature like trees, flowers, vines, etc. i was going to put armor and weapons to show it has been attacked in the pass but was protected.

2: I though of doing a lower angle with someone looking at her through a bush. I like the idea and the angle but i may end up changing the foreground and background similar to that of image 1.

Thank you for any feedback and I hope you like it so far!

1 is better because I think it has a unique atmosphere( at least I imagine it that way) and there's more space for action

Sorry for the gap in between updates, I had to prepare for my school semester coming up and I have not had the time to work on it but here is what i have so far.

Okay here is a rough of the final design. I may changes a few things and possible a few more ideas for the final picture. I am very much open to suggestion about where to head with this picture.Anyway, for this rough I combined the lighting and layout of 2 with the background theme of 1 being a cathedral.
please let me know what you like or don't like and, if possible, some suggestions on how to improve the direction or the design of the piece.

Nice design so far. I really liked your previous post's layout 1 - it was so airy and majestic - but I suppose closer in on the character is better for a character design contest! The current cropping is awkward in that it cuts her off just her feet. She's got an interesting foot design, you should keep them in the frame. (Even if they were boring feet, the ankles or lower calf is never a great place to crop.)
Looking forward to seeing that beautiful environment fleshed out. Good luck! :+1:

@mdashow Thank you for the feedback! Im glad you like what i have so far but I will defiantly take your advice about the cropping into consideration. This almost like the final rough before writing the final paper so I should be able to incorporate any feedback into the final design.

Good choice, I like the cathedral but you can choose a more lively expression for your character unless it was intentional

11 days later

Ok so i have not updated in a while due to work and school, but after much experimentation i think i finally have a pose and focus i like for the final artwork. From here on out i shall be working on the final character turn around and will be starting the final so any feedback will be greatly appreciated. (Yes i know she is not fully drawn but this was mainly for the pose)

I hope you like what I have so far, and thank you in advance for any feedback.

It's little bit hard to read the shapes, because your character is bright also the background. Give her more contrast, maybe she's fighting the shadows?

Thank you for your feedback!. I was just mainly drawing this for the pose but in my current version i am just working on throwing ideas around before is start the final. I like the design thus far but even in my roughs i feels as though the design could be much stronger. I have a week off from work next week and i plan to work on her as much as possible during that time.

I hope you can spare some time for drawing further. Also take some time to relax
